It was a lie they did–pretending that everything was still the same. It would never be the same for Ralph.
Not after the island. Not after everything.
He shook the overwhelming but looming thought off, biting his lip irritably.
Ralph leaped out of the car with a swoosh, not waiting for his dad’s sigh. He gripped the straps of his backpack and stared at the board in front of him.
Ralph touched the shell necklace around his throat and felt his hands tighten around the beads. His nails were chewed, a nervous habit that spontaneously came back over the summer.
Welcome to Gotham Middle School, it read.
Ralph gets rescued from the island and ends up going to Gotham Middle School. He's supposed to be fine. He got out, right?
(He just couldn't stop thinking of the island long after he escaped it. But for him, Bernard and Tim are going to be there for Ralph.)

Summary
Jason Todd forgets to mention how he knew mysterious friendly helper/hitman Night Howler.
The bat-siblings are skeptical and forces, "lonely depressed," Jason to interact with his old best friend again. Also while trying to figure out how they knew each other in the past.

Summary
Jason Todd was born in Crime Alley. He later became the Second Robin after being adopted by Bruce.
In another life, he was left alone after Catherine died to fend off the streets. But with small changes, it leads to a different future.
(Carsten wonders how big of a change he impacted onto Jason's life. If what he tried had any meaning.)
This time Jason grows up with a friend both didn't expect. Carsten Tell thinks it started off as a pity project, but grew into a deeper bond of trust, molding in something they needed at the moment.

This is a fanfic taking place pre-cannon to Jason being Red Hood, and instead just a young kid Jason surviving Crime Alley alone to take care of his mom, Catherine.

Asano Gakushuu looks perfectly normal from the outside. He has good grades, charisma, and socializes with his peers.
But nothing is as easy as it seems. There is always a something lurking underneath the surface. (They wouldn't know how close until it's too late. Drowning for years puts things into a different perspective.)
The end will always be inevitable; Gakushuu thinks that it was always meant to end the same way.
