Summary
After the events of War Crimes, Sokka and Zuko have escaped Zhao’s warship and are fleeing across the Earth Kingdom. As well as unfamiliar terrain, they have to navigate their shared trauma, work out where they fit into the war, and their place in each others lives.
Sokka is aware that being friends with the enemy is going to bring complications, but he probably should have guessed that being friends with Zuko in particular, was going to be a bit like dunking your head repeatedly into a bucket of angry Fire Ferrets.
Katara is also grappling with the confusion of befriending an enemy, something that doesn’t prove as difficult as she had expected with the bond of shared, furious grief bridging old wounds. (Learning a new way to look at her bending doesn't hurt either)
Azula, struggling with the Fire Lord’s mistrust, encounters a few nasty surprises and has to make some difficult decisions. Luckily, she is a great deal better at making sensible choices than her brother.
Her father may have made a slight tactical error.

Summary
Varric knew when the sky opened that he would be writing another book. New villain, new disaster, new hero to rise above the chaos -- only now, the Maker has chosen to prove once and for all that He has a sense of humor. And a very strange one, at that.
Invited to the Conclave by Divine Justinia in hopes of peace, Anders half-hoped the Templars would kill him before the Calling did. He didn't expect to survive an explosion, much less wake up with a glowing mark in his hand, but he's a survivor; if he could endure three heartbroken years after Kirkwall, he can endure the Inquisition.

Summary
“What is that?”
“Am I to presume you’ve lost your sight as well as your wits?”
“No, I was only--”
An exasperated scoff, “Only wasting my time, as well as your own. It’s a child-- a girl, if I need be specific.”
“May I ask why you are bringing this... child into our home?”
“You’ve never needed my permission to ask inane questions before." The woman laughs abruptly, but her voice is grave again when she speaks, "No need to make faces, girl. This once, I shall indulge you: No. You may not ask. You will not get any answers from me. Nor, do I suspect, will you find many with her.”
You wake up in a body that is not your own, in a world you only ever saw through a screen. The threads of the future are in your hands, but there are years yet until the story unfolds... and Flemeth is watching you.

Summary
The elf was not sufficiently impressed when Anders triumphantly handed him a faintly glowing vial of lyrium, but to be fair, Anders’ explanation had consisted of announcing “I did it!” and shoving the vial at him.
“You did…lyrium?” Fenris asked with a cocked eyebrow. “Was it laced with something? A stimulant, perhaps?”
___Fenris catches a curse, Anders plays at bodyguard (Aha! Role reversal!) and then both boys catch some feels. You know how it is.

Summary
Adrian Hawke ran with Anders. As Ferelden dissolves into open warfare, he knows they can't remain in their sanctuary, no matter how much he wishes for it. Justice can’t abide it, nor can Anders. And he'll follow Anders past the edge of the world.
If Anders' actions in Kirkwall weren't enough to remove the possibility of compromise, the Conclave’s destruction annihilated any remaining chance that Thedas might revert to its prior normalcy. Justice still has demands, however; and the dissolution of the Circles will not be enough. Mercy without justice is hollow. Justice without mercy is cruel. And begets only more injustice.
Rhys Trevelyan spent most of his life unwilling to entertain the idea of a fate other than confinement in a Circle – easier to anesthetize his despondence and not make a fuss. Suddenly saddled with the responsibility of closing the Breach and backed by the belief of hundreds of thousands, Rhys has more power than he ever imagined – or wanted. Enough to change the world. But unless he can find the will to master that power himself, there are plenty of people who will master it on his behalf.
