Summary
Baby has lost everything.
The screens are empty. Huntrix has won.
His brothers are dead, and all he has left is Romance - feverish, broken, barely alive in his arms.
He has no plan. No strength. No voice.
But unexpected - and frankly unwanted - help comes to pull him out of the flames of his own hell.
And sometimes the healing begins unexpectedly.OR
By the end of the film, there are only two survivors left: Baby and Romance.
Romance is seriously injured. Baby is lost, consumed by grief and guilt.
Rumi, Mira and Zoey, intrigued but also concerned about the danger posed by the Saja, investigate the boys they have fought.
But what they discover has nothing to do with what they have been taught all their lives.OR
A fanfic about trauma, PTSD, healing, grief... and the family we don't choose.
Healing is never linear. A story of shared scars, of silences that speak, and of bonds that are forged after the ruin.

Summary
As the final chords of What It Sounds Like faded away, the three heroines looked down upon the cheering crowd with bright smiles. Now, floating in the air, the three of them were triumphant. Rumi watched the remaining demons phase below the surface of the earth, and into the magic weave, as they descended from the sky.
Her feet never touched the ground.
Rumi felt as if an invisible hand was dragging her against the surface of a kitchen stove, scorching every inch of her body. Her patterns in particular seared in agony, each line pulsing angrily like a heartbeat. Rumi’s vision flashed white beneath her eyelids, her hands clenched even tighter around the two girls that fell with her, and her throat throbbed with unspoken sobs.
Even through her tears, Rumi could tell that wherever they were falling, it definitely was not on earth. The mountainous land below was devoid of civilization, covered in a deep blue tint, and shrouded in fog. More importantly, the sky above them was blank. No sun, no moon, and no stars. Just an empty deep blue that seemingly stretched on for an eternity.

Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Summary
“Did you know some turtles can live to be over 150?” Zoey says, about midway Rumi’s scalp.
“Oh really, Zo?” Rumi says groggily. Inwardly she groans, because now Zoey starts talking all about Tortoises, Galapos and Sey-Whatever turtles. Usually she loved listening to Zoey talk to whatever her current obsession was, but not at 7- freaking- AM. Before she even managed to have a single drop of caffeine.
Zoey gets to the base of her head now, where some stubborn hairs refuse to leave the collar of Rumi’s turtleneck. She pulls the collar down slightly, only to still at the light purple marks hidden beneath it.
Alternatively: Zoey accidentally finds out about Rumi's patterns and slowly starts puzzling together the truth, while dealing with her own emotions about it.
