Summary
Sandwiched between a thrift store and a laundromat was a little cafe. On top of the new cafe was a sign that read, ‘The Lotus Cafe’, a lotus flower in the middle of the O. All across the cafe was ruffled, green-striped fabric. Each line curved slightly as it went along the edge of the ruffles. Underneath were 2 giant windows that bordered either side of the door. Plants and bushes were planted just underneath them in a cemented box above the ground. On the door was a sign that was flipped to ‘Open’; the sign itself was decorated in all sorts of different flowers. Round tables were set up outside under both the windows, each with 2 sets of chairs surrounding them and on each table held an umbrella to give shade.

Argenti forced himself to stand up. Sitting down was not going to fix the problem. Besides, this mess seemed to be his fault.

Aventurine’s head whipped back into place to face Ratio. Those words couldn’t be real. Not coming out of Ratio’s mouth, and not directed towards Aventurine. He needed confirmation. He needed confirmation that this was real, he wasn’t dreaming, he wasn’t insane, he was here, he was real and that actually happened. Because not even in his wildest dreams would something as impossible as this occur. Desperately, Aventurine seized Ratio’s arms which were loosening around him as he looked to him for validation.
Aventurine stared at him in horror.
Ratio was passed out.

A drunk Ratio admits he loves Aventurine. Only Aventurine remembers the confession by the next morning.

Alhaitham studied it, not letting much emotion show on his face, making Kaveh worry. The blonde awkwardly looked away before clearing his throat and slowly bringing his hands up. - “Me and you…” - He pointed a finger at his chest, then Alhaitham’s, and finally put his hands together and shook them. - “...could we be friends?” - He looked back up.
He regretted asking the moment he saw the way Alhaitham stared at him.
Is Kaveh stupid?! This is the kid he bullied! Of course Alhaitham would want nothing to do with him! He has every right to run from Kaveh. To punch him, yell at him, flip him off…
“I’m– so sorry, I don’t know why I said that!” - He waved his hands - “I should.. Go...”
Alhaitham put the notebook under his arm and hesitated before nodding. - “Okay. Let’s be friends.” - He didn’t look convinced. But he still gave Kaveh a chance.
Kaveh was given a chance.
