Megatron experiences a dream he cannot afford to have, vivid, destabilizing, and far too revealing. Regardless, he steps into a peacetime he is catastrophically unprepared for. The Conclave expects a warlord. The Autobots expect a threat. Optimus expects nothing at all, and somehow that is worse.
As field bleed, phantom sensation, and political pressure tighten around them both, Megatron finds himself unraveling in ways he cannot name. Luckily (or disastrously) Optimus Prime is right there with him, ready to keep him from (or rush him toward) falling apart.
