In a world where your soulmate's first words to you are tattooed onto your wrist, Stede and Ed struggle to find one another. Stede is trapped in the loveless marriage arranged by his father, trying every day to forget about the promise on his wrist of a future at sea. Meanwhile, Ed struggles to come to terms with how anyone could be linked to a monster such as himself, a problem aggravated by an unexpected side effect of his infamy. As the strings of fate tighten, drawing them ever closer, it becomes apparent that true love is hardly smooth sailing - even when haunted by words confirming that it's real.

Summary
It all began with a too-quiet Sunday morning, and within the week evolved into a hair-raising chase from Cumbria back to Surrey.
Harry Potter certainly never bargained for a relocation at the tender age of eight, nor to find himself under the custodianship of a curmudgeonly twenty-eight-year-old rock aficionado named Severus Snape.
Less parent than partner in crime, Snape at times seems as likely to tacitly encourage Harry's mischief as he is to take him to task over it. Perhaps, at that, a father-figure isn't in the cards...
Perhaps, just perhaps, Harry would be better served by a different sort of role model entirely.
