Makoto was a stud on campus, and everyone- including the guys- knew it. So it wasn't odd when he received another confession from a smitten admirer. To Haru, it was as common as rain. What made this girl any different? Makoto said yes.
When Makoto get's a girlfriend, Haru convinces himself that he doesn't care. Why should he? It didn't affect him any! But not even he can explain away the thumping in his chest, the knots in his stomach, and the halt of his heart as he stares into eyes of green.
A story that proves not all soulmates are thousands of miles apart. They might even be right beside you.

He comes across Rin, a fellow witch safe under the disguise of an average villager, and takes Nitori in, despite the risk to his life and danger of revealing his identity.

Summary
Tachibana Makoto, a dedicated student of Tokyo University, applied for a summer job as a private teacher. He had to visit a house by the lake for job interview. When he arrived at his destination with the service of a strangely eerie bus, said house was nonexistent. Instead, he found an abandoned amusement park. Makoto never made it home after that day.
One day a letter alerted a heartbroken Nanase Haruka that Makoto was in the hands of a mysterious man who called himself 'The Joker'. Five amusement park tickets were attached. As Haruka and his friends would sacrifice anything to get Makoto back and reveal the truth, they participated in a dangerous game of trials and fears under The Joker's rules.

"Yeah. A love like that- it's a once in a lifetime thing." Rin snapped his head over to look at his friend drifting along, looking at if he were doing the dead man's float on his back in the air. In a way, Rin supposed he sort of was.
"You ever been in love Makoto?" Rin chewed on his lower lip, keeping his voice gentle, despite the curiosity lacing his tone. There was a lot that Makoto left unsaid, usually playing the part of the observer.
"Oh yes. It was love at first sight." Makoto smiled lightly, a sad glimmer of a memory behind his eyes, his arms behind his head, his chains scraping along the wet floor being chased by the enchanted mop. His head lolled from side to side, as if swaying to the haunting tune of a private melody.
"Well, what happened?" Rin almost swallowed the question down, but it bubbled out of him before he even finished forming it, sense of dread twisting his gut when he could supply his own answer, his smile twisting into a more apologetic wince. Still, Makoto sat up in the air, raising his eyebrow, his own smile wistful, worn, and weary. He shook his head, as if he could shake off some of the memories plaguing him.
"Well, I died."

Haru has a dirty little secret as to why he's constantly relying on Makoto and trying his patience, and I mean dirty. He really, really likes it when Makoto gets pushy.
"Of course that's an incredibly rare occurrence, so I usually settle for him taking charge in his stern, paternal way - which is a guilty pleasure in itself. If I am to really examine myself my guess is that it can all be traced back to the fact that my biological parents have done everything they could to forget about me as soon as I was old enough to make a microwave dinner. Call it Daddy issues if you want but I'm not about to start stripping...probably. As socially unaware as I am I still realize that this is a little strange, and I'll take a hundred career path surveys if it means that Makoto will never find out."
Haru's a bit of a masochist in this story and pretty weird, but it's okay. He has nothing to worry about and neither does Makoto.
