Summary
After the events that nearly killed Peter, Jean Grey left a door open in her mind she cannot fully close. The psychic link is mild, one-way, and deeply inconvenient. Distance makes her powers slip in small, frustrating ways. Proximity settles them.
She keeps trying to board the bus north.
He keeps being the reason she doesn’t.

Summary
“He lost everything—”
“She had nothing—”“—And even then, he promised me himself.”
“—And at that moment, all I could offer her was myself."“I don’t deserve him.”
“She deserves more than me.”“He’s everyone's favorite hero—”
“I’m literally a guy wearing spandex—”“And I’m just a mutant girl."
“And she’s the Phoenix.”“I want to give him the world.”
“She deserves the world and then more.”***
Peter has a low opinion of himself (shocking) and thinks he doesn't deserve to be jealous. I mean... Jean Gray is powerful and pretty, so it's only natural that everyone is crushing on her.
And Jean... Poor Jean...
Jean Grey is putting her life on the line fighting off everyone trying to grab her spider.
***
This is about a boy and a girl. They're going to be okay. They’ll live a beautiful life together. They’ll get to know beautiful people. They’ll create many beautiful things, do beautiful things, and be surrounded by love.
They’ll love…It just takes a lot of mistakes and heartache to get there.
(They’ll get there. I promise.)

Summary
After Jean Grey disappears from Peter Parker’s life, Peter eventually finds a way to get her number. What starts as a simple text quickly turns into an ongoing conversation between two people who have far more to say to each other than either expected.
Somewhere between the terrible jokes, late-night messages, and increasingly flimsy excuses to see each other, Jean realizes Peter might be becoming her favorite part of her new life.
And maybe, despite the distance between them, neither of them really wants the conversation to end.

Summary
“Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn panicked, feeling extraordinarily unprepared having been thrust into her new position without so much as even a handbook to consult. What were the formalities? What was she supposed to respond with? Where was the damn push to talk button…
“Hellooo? I said Houston, do you copy?”
Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”
OR
Caitlyn has been assigned as the personal capcom to one of the astronauts currently on a year long expedition at the international space station. Cue long months of pining and desperate longing.

Summary
Two lines. One mouth
To you, for me, what's mine is yours.
Pregnant.
Jean Grey would never have imagined it in a million years. But it was happening; those two lines told her everything. They never meant for that single night in his apartment after the hospital to spiral so far. And now here she was. Sitting on a bed she'd never remember, with two lines tucked between her fingers.
"You have me..."
"Fuck that, I need you."So she wrote, wrote to him; not a question, and not a warning—an understanding.
Peter,
I'm pregnant.
I'm coming.
I need you.

Xavier's is loud. Every mind bleeds into every other mind and Jean is so, so tired of the noise. Peter Parker's frequency is the only thing in her head that doesn't feel like static. She reaches out expecting him to shut her out. He doesn't. This is probably a mistake. She's going to do it again tomorrow.

Summary
His spider-senses prickles long before his mind catches up. It starts as a faint buzz at the base of his skull, easy enough to dismiss as leftover adrenaline from the fight.
His footsteps thunder through the quiet building, echoing off the concrete walls loud enough to wake every tenant. He doesn't care. Let them complain tomorrow.
He rounds the final corner to his apartment. Then stops so abruptly his shoes squeal against the floor.
Jean Grey is slumped against the hallway wall only a few feet from his apartment door.
One arm braces her upright, fingers dragging bloody streaks through the faded paint every time her body threatens to collapse. Her head hangs low, fiery red hair plastered across her face in damp strands. A growing pool of blood has collected beneath her boots, slowly creeping across the floor.

Summary
Peter doesn’t see Jean Grey for another year.
Not that he expects to.
Then, one second he is sitting alone, nursing something overly sweet and pretending to read the newspaper, and the next he looks up and there she is.
He doesn’t remember her eyes being that blue.
