"So basically... we're... adopting?"
"Not exactly, but she will be put under our legal care. It's us or complete strangers."
"So, what happens if we say yes?"
"They'll bring her over in about a week and we'll sign the papers then. Afterwards, it's up to us. What do you say?"~ ~ ~

No matter how many people in the past told them that they were a great team, or even Mary’s video, he and Sherlock fell apart. Or got pulled apart. The correct answer seemed to be one got pushed away, though."

When Sherlock starts pushing John away after the death of Mary, John is ready to get to the bottom of the issue. Even if the conversation has to happen with Sherlock almost bleeding out in the kitchen.

Summary
The last thing John Watson had been expecting, well, there were a lot of things not to expect, but it certainly wasn’t Mrs. Hudson pulling up in a bright red sports car speeding as if the devil was chasing her tail down his therapist’s street.
It certainly wasn’t her interrupting his therapy session that wasn’t even beneficial. It wasn’t the helicopter and police car tracking her down, and then the both of them going away at the blink of an eye because Mycroft’s eyes and ears know no bounds.
But the most unbelievable thing is that Mrs. bloody Hudson, had played John and lied right to his face, tying him into a bond he couldn't get out of even if he tried. He made a promise he wasn’t sure he’d ever go through with.
And the lie was supposedly justifiable. The lie was Sherlock Holmes.

Summary
After the rebuilding of 221B Baker Street, Sherlock and John manage to settle into a vaguely comfortable routine of domestic life. But their lifestyle has never been the most child-friendly, and so John writes up some house rules in an attempt to protect Rosie. Sherlock predictably breaks them all in his own way, apart from one.

Small slices of life from 221B as Sherlock and John try to establish some sort of family unit for Rosie, while investigating the intricacies of their own relationship which sits on the border between platonic and romantic. Also there's some background crime nonsense occurring as per usual.
