Summary
After the events of Meet Frankenstein, and Meet the Wolfman, the Chipmunks have a new problem to deal with. Particularly Simon, who's been researching the "Dracula Effect", a string of paranormal occurrences and disappearances, all tied back to a supposed vampiric root. The source of the "Dracula Effect" stems from ancient artifacts, known as (Spine Of Darkness), which are spikes, carved from stone and some strange unknown power, being the reasoning that the Dracula legend was created. They can only be removed via destroying the Vampire that they reside in. The real life Dracula was actually the first in history to utilize one of these Spines Of Darkness, which transformed him into the very first Vampire, starting the legends. Vampires can be "cured" via reverse-engineering a Spine Of Darkness to create a "Spine Of Light", but doing so proves to be fatal if done incorrectly, which is the reasoning that many attempts have failed. Simon Seville has been researching into these Spines Of Darkness, and accidentally unearths one hidden underneath the local library.

Summary
The Chipmunks, Chipettes, basically the entirety of their school are preparing for some event called "Multi-District", like a school dance sort of event, except it has several schools participating. Their hometown school Clyde C. Crashcup Elementary School who is hosting this event, was one of them. Their closest neighboring school district was called Leonardo Intermediate School, which had 4th to 5th graders, older but not by a large margin. Two other schools exist, another 1st through 3rd grade level school called Westfield Elementary School, who is the most poor out of the four school districts, and a pretentious, rich kids filled school, called Bocarter H. Elementary School. Yes, the last name is a reference.

Summary
In the twilight of their careers, and desperate to extend them however possible, the Chipmunks and Chipettes reluctantly agree to a deal with NASA to man a mission to the planet Mars. What they hope for is an increase in popularity; a reason for people to cheer for them again. There is no way for any of them to predict the complications, lies, secrets, and threats that they will encounter before they can safely return home. In order to find themselves on the other side of this ordeal with their lives, they will need to tap into every ounce of brains, brawn, and hope that they can conjure.
