“I’m going to need a drink or I’m going to kill that girl,” Kory breathes. “Me too, should we stop at the bar first? Let them simmer a bit for the headache,” he arches his eyebrow and points to the direction of the bar. “Yeah, simmering is exactly what I want them to be doing,” Kory grimaces, eyes flashing briefly in a mock threat. “Two shots of tequila please,” Kory asks the bartender. Dick stares at her, taken aback by her liquor choice, but grabs his glass. “Make that a double. Fuck it, we’re on vacation.” He replies, his dark eyes shining, finding Kory’s green ones as they stare each other down while swallowing the shots.
*Dick and Kory find themselves sharing a villa in tropical paradise during a family vacation. They haven't been alone together since arriving back from Gotham. How long can they hold out on each other in close quarters?*

First, Dick passes by the door to Mar’i’s room. He knocks and slowly pushes the door open, revealing his fifteen year old daughter already curled up in bed. Even now, it’s kind of shocking to see how much she resembles Kory, while still being obviously his daughter with her dark hair and skin.
“Hey dad,” she says, not looking up from her book. It’s a little far away, but he recognizes it’s one of the ones he brought from Earth when they moved here. No Tamaranean books have covers like that. “Bed time already?”
“Yup. Don’t stay up too late reading, alright, starshine?”

Dick is used to being the fearless leader and taking care of his team. A near drowning forces him to become dependent on them to take care of him before he can go back to being a hero. Dick is not one to be taken care of. He's supposed to be a leader, strong and brave. How can he protect his team when he can't even get dressed himself? Dick realizes that sometimes, it's okay to ask for a little help, especially from the ones you love.

It’s safety and adrenaline all at the same time.

“I did.” He swallows.
“Good. You said you had money right?”
“I did.” He smirks.
“Short with words. I kinda like that about you.” She walks closer to him and grabs his hand. He lets her take it. Whatever she wanted to do with him, he would let it happen with little protest. She drops something heavy, soft, but cold in his palm.
“Meet me in London. Bring this with you.” She lowers his voice. She lets go of his hand carefully and he already missed the warmth of it. He turns over his palm. “No, don't open it here. Keep it safe and meet me in London, Rich Boy.”
“Where? When? I don’t even know your name.” He knows he sounds a bit desperate but this whole thing was kinda desperate. And he got the feeling, just as dangerous.
“You run a foundation that supports curatorial arts right? There’s a donors meeting in two days at The National Gallery. Get us an invite. Put Kory Anders on the list. And I’ll tell them I’m with who?” She raises her eyebrows at him encouragingly.
“Dick Grayson.”
