Originally a kinkmeme prompt! Sort of AU Solas/Lavellan where Lavellan is a slave in the days of Arlathan who is given to Fen'Harel.

The Arlathan part of the story can be read by itself if you aren't interested in the Inquisition part.Story is 'complete' as of the end of Inquisition. However a sequel may be done when more content is released by Bioware!

Summary
One year after the events of Trespasser, Ellana Lavellan is increasing her power, finding new allies along the way, and facing that there is a good chance she will eventually have to fight Solas. Solas is building his power as well, preparing for an inevitable war, he hasn't told Ellana the truth about. Ellana and Solas still meet in dreams, but after a year of silence Ellana does something that drastically changes their relationship.

The beauty of free will is that it is as dangerous as it is liberating. The fact that she is most certainly dying is a good enough reason to put that theory to the test as well as push the boundaries of what is and isn't possible in this world. This suits her just fine; friends don't let friends leap off of towers with wax wings on sunny days.
Add in a number of complicated feelings regarding the man she knew as Solas, and it's clear that El'una Lavellan is bound to attract some attention during the course of her swan song. Whether it's wanted or not is something she's going to have to deal with.
