Steve’s school life was perfect. He was liked. He was a normal, average, popular kid. Sure, his grades could be better but they weren’t awful. He got in trouble now and then and he threw parties everyone came to. He had a sweet, intelligent, beautiful girlfriend, who he honestly enjoyed spending time with. Summary
Richie Tozier moves to NYC to go to university along with The Loser's Club and The Hawkins Party. The Loser's all pitch in to buy a run down house that Ben intends to fix up and repair so that one day they can sell it for more than they paid. The house isn't the only thing that needs internal repairs though; Richie also needs to work on himself. Hiding in the closet hasn't done him justice and he has to face the things that truly scare him if he wants to move forward and find happiness. He isn't alone though Will Byers is doing his best to help him through these struggles, and also to add to those confusing feelings.

One is politely eating waffles and having a quiet existential crisis; the other is currently trying to see how many grapes he can fit in his mouth while wearing a bright yellow "I LOVE MILFs" t-shirt.
Will calls the new one 'Richie.' Richie calls Hopper 'Big Jim.' Mike calls Richie 'A cursed funhouse mirror.'

Summary
It's the first summer after each member of the party started to walk their own path and they come back home briefly to touch base, get together and hold on to these friendships that none of them want to leave behind.
Some have left Hawkins, and some, like Will Byers, have stayed. He can't say he doesn't feel somewhat left behind by his peers and by the naturally formed pairs that their group often seems to drift to. So when a doppelganger —Cousin, he reminds himself— of his childhood crush shows up to the Wheeler's household, it's only natural things get pretty shaken up for Will.
OR; Richie and Will shove their noses into each other's businesses without wanting to give away much of their own.
OR; Richie and Will are gay and deserve to be seen and loved.

Summary
Richie Tozier is going to spend a summer with his Aunt Karen because his mom told him it'd be nice to spend a summer away from Derry, meet some old friends, spend time with his cousin. Maybe have fun not torturing the same people. And when he arrives in Hawkins, Indiana, he does find new people to torment, his cousin Mike Wheeler especially. But then he sees a boy he hasn't seen in about four years... Will Byers, and God, does it make Richie realize he'll like this summer more than he thought.
AU where Pennywise doesn't exist, but the Upside Down does. The divergence is that the events of Starcourt Mall do not happen this summer! So expect a lot more fluff than angst in the beginning, but there will still be LOTS of angst eventually.
Ryers is endgame! Byler will be used as a plot point. Sorry my fellow Bylerlings...
