Summary
Jean does not know when the mark shows up for certain. What he knows is that during his freshman year in between the first horrible night and the next, the words JEAN MOREAU? JEREMY KNOX. show up on the back of his neck where only the others could see. Thirty minutes later, everyone knew.
“Yes?” Jean Moreau’s voice is hoarse, tinny through the phone, and his accent shortens the reply by a half-syllable, but it doesn’t matter. Because he is an idiot, Jeremy’s heart swoops into his stomach. Again. Like every other time he hears the word. He takes an embarrassingly long moment to collect himself, breathing out through his nose and ignoring the phantom tingling on the inside of his left thigh. It’s not happening.
__Or: the first words your soulmate ever says to you are inked somewhere on your body, if you're lucky. Against sense, this does not make things easier for Jean Moreau and Jeremy Knox.

Summary
He isn’t supposed to feel like this anymore. He’s supposed to be the freak. The head case. The one who hits hard enough to protect, to get his way. The one you have to skirt around and watch out for. Too crazy and too strong to touch. How can he be someone who protects Kevin like this? How can he square his shoulders and keep his promises when even now this is what he is? This is what he will always be.
Andrew and Neil think of each while apart.

Summary
According to the team, Andrew is currently losing a custody battle for Neil against a sport invented by the mafia.
It’s a running joke in the locker room: Neil cares about Exy, and then, distant second, he cares about breathing. Andrew is somewhere on the list, probably below the new backliner spread Kevin found.
Andrew doesn't bother correcting them. He knows the difference between a distraction and a destination. He knows Neil runs until his lungs burn to keep the ghosts quiet, but he also knows exactly whose bed Neil crawls into when the adrenaline fades.
(Or: 5 times the team thought Neil loved the sport more than the goalkeeper, and one time Neil made the hierarchy terrifyingly clear.)

Let’s start with the good part.
I accidentally helped Three (who was also helped by Ratthi and Bharadwaj) invent trauma recovery modules for murderbots. ART unhelped at first, but then it helped. I keep saying help too much but I’m not fucking changing it again, it’s been two hours. Anyways.
The bad part is everything else that had to happen first. Sane people shouldn’t get anywhere near a SecUnit’s worst memories, which is what we did so you don’t have to. Though I guess if you need the modules, you do have to. That’s kind of the point.Well, don’t worry about all the atrocities. There’s no way yours can be worse than mine.

Seth side-eyed Iris, then snorted a laugh when she made a talking motion with her hand. “Uh huh.”

"Hope isn't for people like us," Andrew said dryly, raising an eyebrow in question at Jean's answering scoff.
"Neil," Jean pointed out candidly, "You pretend to hate him, and yet he is your hope."
Andrew turned to him, slow and menacing. "We were doing so well, don't make me push you off the ledge."
Jean shrugged. "It is okay. Neil is the one who told me I was allowed to hope again."
A misunderstanding with Jeremy sends Jean running into the arms of the Foxes just in time for Christmas break. But when all is said and done, Jeremy will always be the home Jean returns to.

ART took .05 seconds to parse through the article that was sitting open in my feed. It did not send me an amusement sigil, because ART was not a prepubescent teenager, but its next words radiated humor.
“The subject was breached, although I was not aware that Amena had decided to inform you. I was also not aware of the chosen mode of information.”
The article in question read:
