i remember coming across this fic a long time ago, i read until the second chapter if i remember correctly? I really liked it. I'm not sure if that there was just two chapters which was why I stopped reading or if I just decided to put it aside for later. case and point is that i forgot to bookmark/subscribe to it and i lost it for like a year or so and after using my big brain to remember certain tags i was able to find it today, yippee! i'll be happily reading through this.

Summary
Everyone Lu Guang knows follows a hedonistic lifestyle where they chased their own pleasure and nothing else. Everyone Lu Guang knows has died before, but were perfectly reconstructed right before his eyes, with them uncaring of it.
Lu Guang was content for everything to stay the same until the end of time. Until he met the mysterious criminal duo Charles and Jo in a mysterious space as a result from being affected by a distortion phenomena. Until he found a purpose.
Everything here is fine, he knows. Because he’s lived it for the past twenty one years. Everything here is wrong, he realises. But before he can unpack that any further, Cheng Xiaoshi is kidnapped and Lu Guang loses all the memories he has of him.
It takes one single memory for him to snap out of complacency to go find Cheng Xiaoshi. A name, and the daisies.

Cheng Xiaoshi didn’t read. He had the usual list of books— ones he’d read since he was a child, dutifully logged on one of the many websites that catered to finding your soulmate— but the list was short, and he hadn’t added to it since he graduated.
It was just… ridiculous to think that he could find someone willing to love him. Even if they were made for each other, even if it was fate that they would meet— he’d been burned before. People who were supposed to stay, people who had no choice but to love him didn’t. This wouldn’t be any different. He already knew the ending before his own story even began; just another book he refused to read.Or: People can see the notes their soulmate took on any book they read (so long as their soulmate has also read it). Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are soulmates, but they don't know because Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't read.

The headache never went away. Sometimes, he’d wonder what it took to be classified as a migraine. But it couldn’t be. It wasn’t unbearable. It was only constant, an accompanying gnawing on his brain to match the gnawing in his stomach.
He played it off well, just like everything else. Every blurry-eyed squint in the morning was from the sun, every pressure to his temples was to alleviate the stress of the job. Bruises were hidden by his clothing, which was baggy for fashion, Qiao Ling.
Not that she could say anything, anyway.Or, Cheng Xiaoshi has an eating disorder.
