Melanie inhales the room's stale air sharply, finger twitching on the trigger of the gun she points directly at Elias-no, Jonah’s skull. Her eyes bore into the twin weapon in Jonah’s hands.

Melanie finds out about Jonah's plans too early, and Jonah goes to the Institute to be sure it doesn't get out. Melanie fatally wounds him, and he needs a new body before it's too late- And Jon happens to walk in at just the right time.
Or- Jonah half-takes over Jon's body, and they both have to deal with each other's voices in their heads. Neither are thrilled about the situation.

And when she was approached by none other than Leviathan Industries and offered a research position while she worked on her thesis, well, how could anyone resist? Especially when their new state-of-the-art biotech lab was located in Los Angeles, home to Marcy’s two favorite people in the world!
Marcy and her friends, Sasha Waybright and Anne Boonchuy, had known each other since kindergarten, and when Marcy had to move away on Anne's 13th birthday, it had been something of a crisis, but their friendship had proven resilient, and the trio managed to stay in touch with one another in spite of the distance. Now Marcy was moving back and would be reunited with them again!
Of course, that was before the accident, before Marcy died. Wait, did I not mention that part? Ah, well. Might as well get that story out in the open.
