Summary

Kazuki’s brain erupted in internal alarms. His back straightened. "N-no. I mean, sure. If you want to share. No pressure. Not that I care. Just—casual interest."
Rei said nothing for a long moment. Then:
"Men."
Rei's casual confession sends Kazuki's mind reeling, their domestic peace suddenly charged with unspoken tension.

Summary
Picks up in the car after the Suwa family showdown in Ep.12.
They have been partners for years, and they still are. They're just a different kind now, I guess? After making the drastic (and arguably psychotic) plan to leave the hitman business, Kazuki and Rei are forced to make a huge life transition. They have to become normal people. As they work together to adapt to this new and confusing life they find themselves developing new and confusing feelings as well. A continuation of what the anime set up, they are just two "best friends" trying to find a way through their mental illness, past trauma, and their everyday lives together. Unless, maybe there's more to it than that?
I wanted to dive into their near future but also elaborate on their past. So every chapter I am trying to include a current event and a related memory.

Summary
The cafe au where they're... still assassins?
Yep that's right. Rei is a top assassin with a caffeine addiction, Kazuki is a barista by day, and a strategist--working reconnaissance for the organization--by night. Everyday Rei stumbles into the cafe in need of a fix, Kazuki serves him the usual, and they go about their lives, but some big changes are on the horizon. Somewhere along the way a child makes her way into their lives, and strangers become roommates, work partners, then... more?
