They thought she was corrupted at first. Amethyst could see why. She had seen corrupted quartz before. She had the same top-heavy build, with short legs but broad shoulders. The same mane of hair that ran down into a scruff around her neck. And the same protruding tusks that none of the crystal gems shared. But Amethyst could talk, she could reason when she wanted to. And unlike the corrupted quartz, she could walk just as easily on two legs as she could on all fours.

What was going on? What the hell was this?
He felt cold chills run down his spine, even as he was sweating, which didn't help his cramps. He had to figure something out, find something to do without alarming anyone. How was he supposed to explain that, surprise! He had parts different than what they thought because he was born a girl and, double surprise! He was actively bleeding through those parts and feeling like he was being torn from the inside out. How did that make sense?
