The flat tone of voice made Sabo pause and really look at his twin. They’re all some form of wild, but the glint in Ace’s eyes can only be described as frenzied.
Sabo swallowed thickly. He dropped his eyes down to Luffy’s face.
“Hurry up.”
the brothers don’t think much of a seemingly insignificant moment. it ruins their day, and sabo knows he won’t be able to let it go anytime soon.

One almost killed my little brother when we were kids - he was nearly ripped in two. We didn’t know if he’d survive the night. Why would we steal a bear? And to fucking cuddle with? Do you think we had a death wish or something?”

“Green Bean,” he said softly.
Thatch and Marco both did a kind of mild double-take.
“But he’s… brown?” Thatch ventured after a minute.
“Mmm. But green’s what you get when you mix blue and yellow.”
Marco and Thatch knew of their little pirate flag from Ace’s childhood. Their eyes went soft at the admission.
“And 'bean'?” Marco prodded, a small grin quirking his lip. He’d likely figured it out.
“Green Bean for the chef who gave him to me,” Ace muttered shyly, keeping his head down and his gaze on the bear.
Thatch wailed and abruptly threw his entire body weight against him in what was probably an attempt at a hug but felt more like a building toppling him over to the side. “I'm so honored!”

His eyes are wide and panicked, which makes sense. But the fear that's there too?
That's a surprise, honestly. Getting tackled by some petty thug isn’t ideal, but it’s not like Law can’t take care of himself. He could totally kick this guy’s ass if he wasn’t choking on his own blood.

When he steps outside, squinting against the sun just past the horizon, Shanks is already looking up, tilting his hat to shade his eyes. There's a black dot in the paling sky, rapidly growing, and now that Benn's outside he can hear what Shanks meant, too- there's a faint sound that might be shouting and might be laughter.
Benn squints. "That's not a person, is it?"
"Can't be," Shanks says, then pauses. "In the Grand Line, maybe, but that sort of thing doesn't happen in the East Blue."
"Not reassuring, Captain," Benn says dryly.
(Or: Some eleven months into the Red-Hair Pirates' stay on sleepy little nowhere Dawn Island, the sun falls out of the sky.)

Monkey D. Luffy slams the entire battlefield with a wave of untempered conqueror's haki at the most inopportune moment possible, because of course he does, because no member of Garp's family has ever made Sengoku's life easy.
The executioners crumple like ragdolls, and Sengoku curses, turns, and everything twists-
And then all of a sudden the sky is upside down, an impossible ocean overhead stretching from horizon to horizon, and the air is filled with the sound of drums.

A MASTERPIECE
The listed Consequences at the end really made me crack up, especially:
- kuma drops bonney with the revolutionaries and leaves to keep watch over sunny because a god preemptively thanked him for it and what else are you supposed to do in that situation.
- garp retires peacefully to windmill village for exactly one month, whereupon he gets bored and goes to harass his son and also his son's army. nobody is happy about this including him (especially him) unfortunately he is a revolutionary now.
- rayleigh catches up with luffy and absolutely fails to impress upon his little rubber brain the magnitude of how much the government is about to want to kill him but does manage to convince him to go ahead with his two year plan.
- jinbe continues to defer his religious crisis.
- aokiji becomes fleet admiral and ushers in a new era of marine mediocrity.
- shanks laughs his ass off. -

So they’re talking about the possibility that Whitebeard loses and Ace dies and Sabo can’t. There are locusts beneath his skin and a headache throbbing against his skull and a tick-tick-tick down his spine, a countdown, a warning, and he needs to go.
“I can carry a black bag operation in Marineford,” he blurts, off topic, and the room blows up with noise.

“But Dadan, it’s Fish Day!” Luffy protests, scrambling to get up. He can hear Sabo’s breath whoosh out of his mouth as Luffy’s knee digs into his stomach, and he has to dodge a rubbery elbow to the face as he sits up, grabbing Luffy around the waist with one arm and covering his face with his free hand. It doesn’t stop him moving entirely, but it at least slows him down.
“Luffy,” Ace deadpans, hand still over his mouth. “What the hell is ‘Fish Day?’”
Foosha has some sort of festival going on, and Luffy is dead set on his brothers accompanying him.
It's probably the best thing they could have done.

“It is a matter of some urgency,” Mihawk said, the remark bypassing Buggy’s choke of outrage at being sidelined as he told Makino, “Your husband is about to do something reckless.”
Her heart, which had jumped at the mention of him, fell just as quickly. “What?”
Buggy rounded on him, although his surprise had a different reason. “What?”

Summary
Sanji tries to imagine Yonji carrying anything for him at all just to be nice. The daydream falls apart instantly, because Yonji only ever took things from Sanji to break them.
“Do you promise you’ll give it back?” he musters the courage to ask, clinging to the cookbook a kind old woman just sold him, unwilling to let it go without making sure. She had smiled and said she was certain her family’s recipes would be in good hands with him and Sanji doesn’t want to prove her wrong before he gets a chance to even try. “You have to promise.”
Zoro gazes down at him with that inscrutable look on his face he’s worn all day. He could probably take the book from Sanji pretty easily but he doesn’t yank it away or twist his wrist until he lets go. They just stand there, sizing each other up. Sanji’s nerves mount with every second but he doesn’t back down.
Yonji would have hurt him already and laughed about it. The first mate of the Strawhat crew simply says, after enough time that Sanji knows he’s taken it seriously, “Promise.”
