Summary
Princess Luna has been trapped on the Moon for one thousand years. No food, no water, not even enough air to breathe. It's been total sensory deprivation for a millennium. Except for the cold voice of Nightmare Moon constantly reverberating through her mind. It's the only way she's still sane. But, her time on the moon has come to an end, and Luna won't be in control when she finally returns to Equestria.
Prince Vesper is the alicorn heir to the throne of Serenthal. When his kingdom is razed by a raiding army, his parents made the ultimate sacrifice to save him, unknowingly sending Vesper on a crash landing into Rarity's basement.
Twilight Sparkle has been staying in Ponyville, with instructions to make real friends in preparation for the Summer Sun Celebration. She has made no progress because of her research into 'childish prophecies' detailing the return of a world-ending threat that very same night.
Rarity's missing her scissors, Spike is starting to regret his decisions, Fluttershy is nervous, Applejack is determined, Pinkie Pie is making light of things, and Rainbow Dash is twenty percent cooler.
When all of these ponies converge, and Princess Celestia is absent, what could possibly go down?
