The ceremony was done, and the two of them had signed all the papers and drank from all the important goblets. Katsuki had thought that was that.
But apparently there’s a funny little rule in Norse courting rituals where you have to fuck your betrothed like a goddamn heathen to make a marriage “official.” Katsuki learned of it approximately two fucking minutes ago, on his way to spend his first night as a married man.
And Highlanders are the ones that they call barbaric. Isn’t that funny.

Summary
It’s a few days after the first battle, and Shouto reveals something far too weighty for Katsuki to handle properly in his post-battle rawness, and his temper gets the better of him. Usually Deku acts as translator in this situation — he always knows what Katsuki’s trying to say, even through his calloused pride. The two of them will talk and Halfie will get over it, as he always does.
Or, at least that’s what he thought would happen. Deku leaving UA – casting Katsuki aside and leaving Shouto in the dark – was never part of the plan.

He had worn it all day. Through the rites, the walk to the altar, the binding vows, after which his betrothed had lifted it and pressed a chaste kiss to his mouth. He had never concerned himself with tradition, but the pressure from the Council had finally brought him here. To his bedroom, redone in honour of his marriage, and a husband.
Across the room, Itachi was undoing the clasp of his cloak.
