Summary
After finally getting her chance to be a hero, Jinx sacrifices herself for her beloved big sister, fully expecting to die. The universe has other plans for her, however, and the blast of Hextech from her final bomb traps her in time, leaving her alone and unconscious in the Hexgates ventilation system. With no reason to assume otherwise, Vi and Ekko grieve Jinx’s death and learn to live their lives without her.
Three years after the tragedy, Ekko returns to the Hexgates and once again, their lives are flipped upside down when he discovers Jinx alive, but unconscious in the vents.

“Hi,” the figure said, and it was only when she heard the the person's voice did her conviction falter. It was soft and decidedly female, but there was an inevitable tone of cautiousness that could only belong to that of a kid. There was no maliciousness in it either; just simple anxiousness. Like they'd broken into a bystanders house instead of legally entering a suspected dealer's lab.
"Hello,” Caitlyn replied calmly, lowering her hand away from her rifle. "Do you live here?” she asks carefully. There were no reports Signed was suspected to have an accomplice.
“...Yes,” the other responded, and maybe if she'd known what would happen in that room, she would have made more of an effort to immediately restrain the girl. Then again, she had no idea just how bad of a turn things would get otherwise.
OR: Deputy Vi, Sheriff Caitlyn, and the rest of their specialized team are saddled with investigating Noxus-related dealings in Zaun, all while the redhead continues her search for her still-missing sister.
Both missions are unrelated. Until they aren't.

Caitlyn blinked and raised her gun in the same breath.
Jinx blinked back. She stared at her with half-lidded eyes, her blood-crusted lips perking up into a small smirk. “Uh,” she mumbled, breathing heavily and clutching her side. “Hi?”
Caitlyn lowered her gun before her brain could even fully process the words.
Then Jinx, Piltover’s monster and her mother’s murderer, promptly collapsed.
Jinx returns a decade after the war. It doesn’t go the way anyone expected.
