Summary
“You have got to be kidding me Wilhelm.”
Simon’s arms hung limply by his sides a moment later, at a complete loss for what to say.
And Wilhem wasn’t being very helpful either, wincing slightly while leaning against the locker that Simon had crowded him against looking like he’d like to be anywhere else but here.
“I know, I’m sorry but I really did try,” Wilhelm said. Simon could feel the look of disbelief on his own face. “I told her that you wouldn’t like it, but she insisted! Come on, you know what she’s like.”
Simon breathed out slowly, pinching the bridge of his nose. “A Valentine’s day publicity stunt? Really?”

Summary
Simon hated going to his dad’s place alone.
It was a dark night – a curling mist hung over the path before him. Simon pushed through it, because he had to do this. He was strong, he had made a mistake and he was going to fix it. Because his family deserved to be protected and feel safe, and like he wasn’t going to betray them again.
So not even the stupid cold that scraped like a razor against his spine was going to make him turn back.
(Wilhelm takes care of Simon after a traumatising visit with Micke.)

Summary
Simon swore that his brain was short-circuiting, or something was going wrong, because he couldn’t form any kind of thought - no matter where, or how hard he searched for the right words. He could only stare, as Wilhelm glowed, half-shadowed by the light, looking up at Simon as if he had the solution to the world’s problems.
He couldn’t do this. This was going to break him.
“Please,” Wilhelm continued, perhaps oblivious or uncaring towards what he was doing to Simon. “One last chance. Give me one last chance.”

Wilhelm doesn't exactly have a plan, but he knows he has to win Simon back somehow.

Summary
“You don’t owe me anything, Simon,” Wille interrupts him at once, words all but falling out of him. Like he can no longer hold them at bay. “I can appreciate the other day for what it was. But we can forget about it if that’s what you want.”
Blood roars in Simon’s ears, something sick burning in his chest and clawing its way up his throat.
"I think we should maybe forget about it," Wilhelm had once said.
He pulls his hand away from Wilhelm’s knee abruptly and clenches his fingers together in his own lap. Simon will never understand how he keeps managing to tumble into these situations. Perhaps it really is him, always laying himself bare and unwanted at people’s feet.
His voice is a lot smaller than he would like when he asks, “Is that what you want?”

Or, Simon seeks out Wilhelm the day before the jubilee celebration and he realizes he’d rather be Wille’s secret than anyone else’s boyfriend.
