Summary
Shane stands in the elevator, pulse beating in his ears that are stained red from embarrassment. He stares down at the text, a million thoughts racing through his head.
We didn’t even kiss.
He wants to hit send, but he knows better. He knows that telling Rozanov this will not get him anywhere. He won’t get what he wants. He isn’t even really sure what he wants right now.
Six months of silence. Six months of absolutely nothing. He should have never walked into that bathroom at the award ceremony. He should have sat down in his seat in the audience and just let it be.
Why can he never let things be?
Shane hits send without thinking.______________________
After the Major League Hockey Award show in Vegas, Shane hits send on the 'we didn't even kiss' texts rather than deleting it. It turns out better than he could have hoped for, and he gets the aftercare he deserves.

Summary
Yuna did not hate Rozanov, no — she despised him. Just the mention of his name let her blood boil inside her veins. Shane did not work his ass off to only be reduced to some kind of rivalry. He deserved the spotlight and praise for his own achievements and Yuna fought the urge to scream whenever her son just shrugged it off as if he didn't care. She couldn't fathom how he could be so nonchalant about all of this. He should be enraged and angry and stand up for himself. He was his own person, not an extension to some Russian who thought he was above everyone else!
And then Rozanov had the audacity to show up at the hospital, looking like his whole world had shattered in front of his eyes.

Summary
"Condoms," Shane gasps out. "We don't have condoms."
Ilya groans, this one of displeasure. The last thing he wants to do is leave the space between Shane's ridiculously perfect thighs to go hunt down a piece of rubber. Though the image of Shane, panting and worked up, is a thing of beauty. It sounds fun, but Ilya needs it now just as bad.
"Do we need them?" Ilya asks, mostly as a joke. He makes a move to leave, but Shane's legs tighten around him.
Shane lets out a moan. "I'm clean."
Ilya gets to fuck Shane raw. He doesn't last long.

Summary
Galina has warned him it wouldn’t always be that way, that love isn’t a miracle drug. Ilya would nod his way through the lecture. Yes, he’s still sad sometimes when Shane is right there, but it’s easy to forget when Shane smiles at him, holds his hand just because, tells him I love you, drops to his knees.
Distractions, Galina would shake her head, disapproving and understanding at the same time. But Ilya really thought it’s enough, wanted to believe so badly that for him love does fix everything. He knows the crashes after seeing Shane are always the worst. So empty and meaningless, sadness a knife splitting him open until the void threatens to consume him, its ugly head baring teeth.
Ilya’s luck has run out.
Or: Ilya has a bad depressive episode when he's at the cottage with Shane.
