Summary
During the events of THE HANGED MAN case was another investigation, one that wont end up with a report filed away in the RCM archives, but one they all need to work out in their ledgers anyway. One detective has named it THE MYSTERIOUS DISCO DETECTIVE. Which, frankly, is a garbage title but at least wouldn’t have looked out of place with Dick Mullen’s name attached. The patrol officer calls it HIS WAYWARD MEMORY. Poetic. But what kind of case name is that?
Jean on the other hand simply calls this case WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? Scrawling out the capital letters in his notebook helps steady his shaking hand for just a moment.
An exploration of Jean during the events of the game, filling in the blanks of the information that Harry’s skills give us in game (especially Esprit De Corps, Shivers, Empathy, etc)

Tucking his arms behind his back, Kim leans over the rat, only a little weary and frustrated. It is quite cute, with its twitching nose and little hands. He distantly wonders if there's another rat around somewhere.
TRIVIA – After all, rats are social creatures, much like humans.
SACRE COEUR – They get terribly depressed without a friend.
"Hello, cher petit rattie. Do you know where the detective from the 41st is?"
Look at him, talking to a rat of all things-
["Is that me? Are you looking for me?"]
Kim jumps, suddenly hearing a voice, as if it is speaking to him directly inside his mind. Deep, raspy, like whoever it was had been smoking a pack a day. A bit of a Messinian accent. Kim looks around the room, but there isn't anyone else, just the rat.
He stands up on his hind legs, sniffing the air. ["Um, down here."]
No. No way. "Erm... Petit rattie?"
["Yes! That's me!"]
"You're... You are a rat."
["I'm aware. But I'm also a police officer. I think?"]
Kim sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "It's the stress, I'm finally losing it..."

Emmet didn’t think he would ever see his twin again, with 5 years gone by and counting. It had been 4 years since Emmet looked at himself in the mirror, or even passed one, the jolt of wondering if he’d seen his twin too much to bear. 3 years, since the battle subway had removed multi battles and limited its single and double battles, as Emmet stretched himself too thin working. 2 years, since Emmet became the only person to believe his brother was alive. It took a single year for Emmet to become quieter, fueled by his words or phrases failing to produce his twin’s response.
But after those 5 long years of not knowing what had happened to Ingo, from within a part of the unused tunnels of the battle subway, a strange Sneasel-like Pokémon suddenly appears from the dark within Emmet’s personal space in the blink of an eye. But the way it appeared perplexed and almost…confused, by his face of all things, made Emmet dare to feel a glimmer of hope.

Ch 4: We are Rivals
"You." Neo says with almost a hiss in his tone.
Why was Metal here? He still appeared to only have the one Chaos Emerald still embedded in his chest, looking a lot better than his dented up and sparking self that was when attached to the magnet. It was actually nice to see that he wasn't so damaged, though he wasn't about to assume Metal was there to say thanks and help him along the way to reach the mad genius in return for saving him.
It was very unfortunate to cross paths again here of all places, even if the machine is now an enemy to Eggman, Sonic is still his greater and more prioritized foe. It would be very difficult to take on his mechanical rival alone in his current condition, so maybe he could try and talk his way out or stall for time? Until Tails and Knuckles arrive.
"Oh hey Metal, how's it go- gaaahhhtt." In a flash a hand wrapped around his throat; slamming the hedgehog up against the wall with the robot's nails digging into the metal sheet behind his back, keeping him pinned and locked in place.
Sonic nervously smirked as the hand clamps tightly around his windpipe, his metallic duplicate moved a little faster than anticipated and without so much as a hello?

One of my favorite Hyrule and Legend centered fics ive read, the plot is deeply intriquing, always evolving in new complex directions. and offers a beatifully written world with moving character writing.
