Summary
If moving on was easy, traumas wouldn't be a thing. No one understands this better than Shadow the Hedgehog. However, the problem with living in the past is that time marches on anyway. What do you do when the world keeps turning, even as our hearts seemingly remain stuck in the same place?
A post-canon story where we follow members of the Sonic cast in their lives in an aftermath of all of their adventures, Shadow and Amy being the protagonists and the main (but not the only) focus of this story.
Characters have been aged up progressively through the main games' events, as to not be stuck with the same age for 10+ years worth of adventures.

Summary
It's been a full year since Sunny left Faraway, having told the truth. Thinking he'd never see them again, he gets a sudden phone call from an old friend. Is it worth going back? Do they miss him as much as he does? What happens when they see him again?
Follow Sunny as he deals with the insecurities and doubts still plaguing him from his past while trying to reconnect with his past. While the trauma might be over, the pain never really goes away. The best we can sometimes do is learn to live with it. Have his friends forgiven him, or do they hold the same resentment as Sunny has for himself?
(Note: This is the old version, as I have decided to start over. Chapter 2 was a struggle for old me because I could not get Hero right, and I just gave up. I'm older now, have many personal OC short stories under my belt, and I am ready to try again. I hope you'll enjoy the new story when it comes out.

Summary
It has only been a few days since Sunny confessed to everyone in the hospital. It did not go well, so in order to clear his mind, he sneaks out and goes to the Hangout Spot to think.
In another timeline, Mari is still mourning the death of her little brother, visiting the sight of his drowning during her break from college. What she didn’t expect was to see her brother in the water’s reflection. What she also didn’t expect was to see him dive in the water and breach the surface on her side of the water. Now Mari believes she’s got a second chance with Sunny and will do anything to protect him. He is never leaving her sight again.
Meanwhile, Sunny’s friends witness his departure and now have to investigate the strange properties of the lake and the mysterious monolithic statue that sits in the middle of it to get him back, unknowing that on the other side is everything he could ever want in life.
Guilt and trauma still wrack his very being, and it’s only made worse by everything going… right.
