Summary
Gyuvin's shirt is still distractingly wet. The lake light catches on the bridge of his nose, the water on his eyelashes, the flush still high in his cheeks. He looks like every version of himself Ricky has seen so far got poured into one person: baseball boy, son in the kitchen, homecoming favorite, idiot in a bathroom, beautiful wet thing on a platform trying not to look scared by his own wanting.
Gyuvin has a fastball, a slider, a changeup, and no idea why he can’t seem to leave Ricky alone. Ricky has an art portfolio, a bad attitude, and no idea why he keeps saying yes to Gyuvin.

Summary
Nicholas looks irritated, brow furrowed, lips red and bitten. K is standing over him with a handheld electric fan, blowing cool air onto his face. It looks like he needs it— he’s sweating buckets, hair matted, sweatshirt and pants stripped off, leaving him in just a white tank top sticking to the divots of his torso and grey boxer shorts. His skin is flushed down to his chest.
The room smells overwhelmingly of chocolate. It’s dizzying— rich and dark. And underneath, the comforting smell of baking bread.
Omega, the voice of Euijoo’s hindbrain whispers. In your territory.

Summary
The scent of citrus cleaner couldn't cover the smell of smoke. The expensive sweaters couldn't hide the bruising longing. Euijoo had spent three years trying to turn himself into a man who didn't need the ring, but one night at the academy proved that some rhythms are impossible to forget.
What starts as a sparring session to test their reflexes ends as a desperate reclamation. Nicholas is done mopping up the mess of their past—he’s ready to make a new one, right on top of the desk where Euijoo tried to sign him away.

Summary
“You’re not even paying attention to me,” Gyuvin says in a tone Ricky doesn’t recognize. His hands squeeze Ricky’s wrists and the act causes Ricky to inhale sharply as the pressure grows slightly. “I’m putting in all this effort to play with you and you aren’t even listening. Why?”
Remaining silent is a choice. Sure Ricky could open his mouth and give Gyuvin the response he’s looking for. That monotone ‘leave me the fuck alone’ answer Gyuvin has grown so accustomed to but this time he doesn’t respond.
There’s something here. Something deeper than Gyuvin’s usually playful routine Ricky wants to get to the bottom of. So he keeps his mouth pressed shut and watches the light dim from Gyuvin’s eyes.

Summary
Euijoo, Fuma and Kei have always been close. Everyone always joked that they’d end up together eventually but Euijoo just didn’t expect it to happen like this.
One mistake is all it takes to bring everything into the open, forcing Euijoo to face the harsh truth he’s been avoiding. There’s no returning to what they were before but maybe that’s because they were never meant to stay that way.

Summary
If he were to be honest, Nicholas was fully convinced the shy and clumsy persona was a front to amuse the viewers. It's not unusual, to play a role or character; it's far more entertaining that way. So he'd be lying if he said it wasn't the littlest bit jarring. How there's no persona at all. How there's no difference between the EJ he watches on Friday or Saturday and the Euijoo he meets up with all the other days.
Euijoo is EJ. EJ is Euijoo. Nicholas kind of feels devastated.

“I was not flustered.” He lets the lanyard go.
Euijoo bites his lip, before giving Nicholas an incredulous look. That’s your best defense?
“Okay, maybe I was. But only because you’ve been begging for my attention all day.” Nicholas retorts. “Well it's not everyday the top performer on the dance club is on your tour.” He pauses looking at his feet.
“I had to make an impression.” Euijoo concludes, looking down at his feet. He’s shy.
“Everyone knows you, posterboy. Perfect, prim and photogenic.” Nicholas states. “That’s not me. Well… I am photogenic-” Euijoo starts. “Oh- shut up” Nicholas cuts in. “You said it. Not me.” Euijoo does that damn head tilt again.
Nicholas is sure if anyone saw them they’d think something was going on. Especially with how close they are standing to each other. Each smart remark seems to pull them closer.
“You’re really close to my face.”

Or Nicholas goes on a campus tour of his own school with Maki, where he meets posterboy Euijoo and immediately thirsts after him. Banter and shenanigans ensue.

The boy puts down his dog (Eumppappa, right?) and she immediately pads up to Hanbin to lick at his ankles, which are exposed beneath his trousers. Then he bows back, and gingerly takes Hanbin’s hand to shake it, though he does so a bit wildly. “Ooh, a western greeting? Did you live abroad?” He releases Hanbin’s hand and smiles. As he does, his cheeks scrunch up adorably. “I’m Kim Gyuvin. Looking for a house—we spoke on the phone. And did you say witch? Like, tarot readings and such?”
or: Kitchen witch Hanbin sets up an advertisement to fill the empty room in his house full of magical inhabitants—spelled in such a way that ordinary eyes will not find it. Kim Gyuvin, definitely a human, reacts to the ad.

To the shadow, that light is blinding, one that he sould avoid. Yet, it calls for him, breaking through every barrier that he have built. The shadow tries to reach toward the light, however it burns him. He is Icarus, and the light is the sun.
It should have erased him; take his whole entire being away. But it doesn't. The light reaches back at him—the gentle warmth enveloping his cold self. He is whole again, no longer a shadow of his past self. That's when it came to him.

Euijoo meets Fuma's eyes for as long as he can stand, then looks down at his own lap. He doesn’t really know what he’s asking. But he knows that it’s strange to be asking it: and to be so willing to do whatever it is Fuma answers.
“Mm,” Fuma says, a drawn out note. Then the bottle, placed precariously on the carpet between them. “Does our Euijoo have something he wants to do?”

“Meow.”
It was hard to hear anything over the rain. Maybe it was just Euijoo’s mind playing a trick on him. Every time it rained like this, he would think of that night so many years ago where he found a shivering kitten taking shelter under a parked car. Maybe it was just that–deja vu.
He continued walking for a few more steps.
“Meow.”
There it was again.
This time Euijoo turned around. In the middle of the street behind him it sat very properly, head held high and tail swung around its paws. The cat was a calico, one ear black and one ear orange.
Or; When he's 9 years old, Euijoo brings a stray cat home, and 20 years later the same cat once again follows him home through the rain.
