Wolfwood could ignore it. Or, well, maybe he could have. If this were any other city. Any other night. Any other song, even, because it’s one that Vash knows—Vash, whose eyes light up even behind his stupid glasses, even more bright cyan than the neon, than clear desert sky at high noon.
Because that’s the problem. Has been all along. That it can’t be, could never be, anyone other than Vash the goddamn Stampede who looks at him like that.
Between the start of Julai and the end of it, Vash and Wolfwood see if either one of them can get drunk. Or: a last supper, of sorts.

Nicholas realizes they haven't eaten in hours when his stomach lurches in loud delight at the sight of food. Vash nudges the basket in his direction wordlessly and settles back against the stitched padding, shoulders broad, straight, as he watches the rest of the bar with a distant expression. The ice bobs inside his glass when he shifts weight to the side—like this his profile is shadowed and starkly defined, a straight nose and lashes for ages and highset cheekbones, features handsome enough to tempt anyone. Nicholas polishes half of the food with little effort, and can't help himself:
"So you're an obstetrician now."

Astarion's blood is dark, left to sit idle in his veins for far too long. Whether flowing from a vein or an artery, his blood never sprays, just oozes.
Maybe Astarion is just rubbing off on him, but Wyll has to wonder how it tastes. Has to wonder what it would mean, to drink it.

Vash kisses him and it’s like dying. Not the pain of it, but the certainty. Like this was inevitable, despite the odds, despite the vastness of the universe, the coil of time, the fact that Vash is a myth long forgotten and Wolfwood is just one human among millions scattered through the stars. Vash threads his fingers through Wolfwood’s coarse hair, tugs him even closer. Pours the past five centuries of grief into the slide of their lips, licking into the heat of Wolfwood’s mouth, swallowing down the salt of communion wafers and the bitter aftertaste of wine. A mouthful of holiness for the most damned man in the universe.

Amongst the numerous stories of the last Margrave Gautier’s scandalous liaisons stands out one in particular: the now-famous relationship he entertained with Duke Fraldarius, First Advisor to King Dimitri the Great. Though a mere sample from a total of more than 150 letters, these last remaining excerpts from their epistolary correspondence depict a more accurate picture of the tale of romance we now find summed up in history books.

Xingqiu had told Chongyun, all those years ago, most of the truth - that he’d gotten his Vision in the rainstorm that had pummelled Liyue Harbor while Chongyun had been recuperating from his disastrous Dragonspine expedition, that perhaps even the Archons had known not to separate Xingqiu and Chongyun in any way. It had been half a joke, but Chongyun had accepted it with a pleased smile.
He doesn’t know what it says about him that he remembers, with aching clarity, that moment where he’d been so coldly angry about not being able to protect Chongyun that he’d attracted the attention of the Archons themselves. Every time he touches his Vision, he gets a flash of that frigid, relentless part of himself.
And it feels ugly.
