He’d barely left his nest, and he still felt like he would sleep for 12 hours straight once they were finally allowed to go home.
Home. To Eddie’s house, where all of Buck’s things had been relocated by their friends. He was grateful that he’d packed almost everything before going down, so he’d spared them the burden of packing for him. Unpacking would be its own challenge. He hadn’t thought much past getting his things out of his loft, hadn’t dwelled on his dishes sitting in the place of Eddie’s mismatched collection of Corelle dishes and plastic plates, his knives sitting in their block on the counter, his bed in the room where Eddie once slept.
Now, all their things would be in one place, sharing space in cupboards and closets. And Chris would be there too. Buck wasn’t sure that he still trusted that this was really happening. If it weren’t for how often he woke up with tears on his face and Dani’s name in his mouth, he’d suspect he was still in a coma.

The crisis has been averted; now it's time for Buck and Eddie to discover what comes after.

But lying here, loose and relaxed, with a warm flush spreading over his skin and a lazy sense of pleasure singing in his veins, he’s a little too gone to care. Buck’s voice is dripping in starlight, hot and familiar in his ear, and with his eyes shut he can almost pretend that he’s here, beside him. He can almost pretend it’s Buck’s fingers that are making him feel this good; can almost pretend that Buck’s eyes are on him, dark and wanting as he watches Eddie lose himself.

Has Eddie ever looked at another man and wondered? Has he ever felt that slow, curious burn that’s crawling its way up Buck’s throat right now? Has he ever, holy fuck… has he ever looked at Buck and wondered?
He needs to know.
No.
He needs to show him.
Or; What if after Tommy kisses Buck, his only thought is I want to do this with Eddie.

“One kiss,” Eddie echoes, eyes fixated on the dark seam of Buck’s lips, the gentle arch of his cupid’s bow. “So I know.”

Summary
The room spun for a beat before settling into dim shapes: the low gray light of early morning bleeding in through the blinds, the familiar slant of their bedroom ceiling—but none of that registered. What hit him first was the body against his.
His cheek was pressed against the top of a spine, rising and falling against his face with heaving breaths. His arm was wrapped around a torso that was moving with his own. His thigh was wedged up against hips that had just pushed back into him.
And that sound—that breath, that low, involuntary sound—it hadn’t come from him.
It had come from—
“Eddie,” Buck whispered. Voice raw, stuck halfway in his throat. He wasn’t even sure he’d meant to say it out loud.
“It’s okay,” Eddie spit, like it had come out instinctively—because Buck sounded scared, or maybe because Eddie was, too.
Eddie huffed, voice rough. “Keep going.”
Buck let out a shocked, stuttered, “Huh?”

“I just feel…” Eddie starts, and then he’s shaking his head and blowing out a stiff breath, rubbing at his brow. “I don’t know, man. I need to get out of my head. It’s not a good place to be right now.”
Buck hums. Lightheartedly, he says, “I could always spank you again.”
Eddie chokes on his water where he was mid-sip, snorting and coughing around his own laughter. “Yeah, absolutely,” he says sarcastically, shoving at Buck playfully. “It worked so well last time.”
Their eyes meet, and a wave of energy shocks its way through Buck’s body. Not like a lightning strike; more like an electric fence, pulsing through his fingertips and dissipating in his chest, fizzling out into his ribcage.
“Well, it kinda did,” Buck croaks, throat aching and dry again already.

Eddie drags a hand over his face, forces himself to look away, but it’s too late. The image is seared into his brain now, lodged deep in the part of him that logic has no power over.
He is fully, shamefully, helplessly thirsting over a complete stranger.
And then the guy laughs.
It’s low and warm, a perfect sound, the kind that sends a shiver down Eddie’s spine and makes his stomach clench. His willpower crumbles like a sandcastle as he risks another glance.
Huge mistake.
The guy is looking right at him.
His head tilts slightly, amusement flickering across his perfect features and he grins.
He knows.
Eddie clears his throat and abruptly turns away, shoving his attention back to his coffee before he does something stupid, like hold eye contact for too long. Or worse…smile back.
“You’re pathetic.”
“I know.”
Or; Alternative meeting, Eddie and Buck meet in a coffee shop and fall in love in seven days.

“Let me come with you,” Buck says, practically begging. “Look, I know it’s your son and your truck and your crazy plan, but it’s Christmas, and maybe it’s insane, but I’d rather be with you getting a neck cramp from sleeping in your passenger seat than on my couch alone or begging Maddie to let me sit in on her and Chimney’s plans. And then I can play my road trip playlist and find all the cheapest gas stations and make sure you don’t cost yourself two-hundred bucks by speeding on the I-10, and…it’ll be fun. I promise. Just—” Buck bites his lip and softens his voice. “Just let me come.”
Eddie just raises an eyebrow at him and motions to the passenger seat. “Well,” he says, “you better get in.”
or, christopher has a request: to be back in LA in time for christmas. eddie drives sixteen-hundred miles to make it happen (and of course, buck comes along too).
