    It’s a breezy Sunday with darkening clouds cloaking the horizon when it starts with one, simple, request.

    “I want you to deliver this to the Mist Hashira.” Gyomei requests, stepping into the space that Genya now calls his room. Ruffled bedding, pressed flowers, and a shelf in the corner where the sun lingered the most dedicated to his bonsai trees.

    “A parcel?” Genya asks, blinking at the small box in the hands of his mentor. He held it gingerly in spite of the bone-crushing strength burrowed beneath his fingers. “And why me? Isn’t there supposed to be a Hashira meeting next Friday? You could give it to him then.”

    Gyomei contemplates his mentee's words, thin lips flattened as he still held the parcel steadily in his palms. The silence stretches for a moment or two long, and Genya fears he may have been too disobedient in the face of curiosity.

    “The Mist Hashira is.. sick.”

    Or, when Genya is tasked to deliver a parcel to Muichirou, he instead finds himself thrown into an array of mourning and healing, all while learning about his feelings for the Mist Hashira, Tokitou Muichirou.

    Being an elite gamer who maintained a 4.0 GPA, part-time job that bordered on full-time, and a stand-in parent for six sibilings was a rough gig. But if anyone could handle it, it was Sanemi. He took everyday in stride and counted his blessing for the things he did have - good friends (not that he would tell them that) and a loving family.
