He stops in front of the door, breathing heavily through his mouth. His mind completely blanks, and for a second he thinks it’s all the running; the lack of oxygen is starting to catch up to him. He feels lightheaded. But then he takes in another breath, through his nose this time, and he smells it.
Satoru’s scent is fairly light. Normally. Ozone and something electric, like the smell of wet air after lightning strikes a bit too close for comfort. Muted. Definitely not the type of thing Suguru can usually smell through a door.

Suguru coughs. He tilts his head back and looks down at her lips curled around the cigarette, and just as she moves it away from her mouth he takes it from her to have a drag. Shoko has an odd way of flirting with him--it isn’t hard to figure out, he’s become more than familiar with it, but it remains strange. It suits her perfectly. When it clicks, there’s a little glint in Shoko’s tired eyes that make her look a little livelier for a split second; she leans further against the wall, her hips angled towards him and her hands inside her pockets. Suguru presses his forearm to the wall, leaning into her space.
“I do have a mission,” he says. He can’t help sounding disappointed. “But it shouldn’t take me long.”
