Summary
Ever since she was but a wee babe, toddling about, Nicole was a special child. Or so Alice had heard. She may be incredibly talented, but even she couldn't retain memories from when she was so young. But she had heard plenty of stories told and retold over and over again by Nicole's family, all dramatically spinning tales about how she excelled in certain areas to the point of petrifying genius, while being years (decades, in the case of Nicole's verbal speech) behind her peers in others.
When she reached preteen ages, Nicole developed interests that consumed her entire being in a way that was different from other children. This, Alice could remember. She remembered not seeing Nicole for weeks, and eventually climbing up to the second story window and banging on it with her fists until she was let in, filled with worry for her closest friend. Only to find that she had been swallowed in by stories and fairytales of all sorts, and completely lost track of the real world in her passion, instead of being victim to a fatal accident like Alice had feared.
Alice finds Nicole in the depths of a new fixation, and is well aware of how infatuated she is with her.

“Fancy seein’ you here, ey Gin? Well, I guess I should count myself lucky that I’m not meeting your blade, right?”
Their head tilted down, and locks of black hair tickled the back of Michizou’s neck. It was uncomfortable, but he’d rather die right now than have it any other way.
“Don’t speak too soon, or you’ll be in for a surprise.”
Gin’s words were smothered by Michizou’s neck, so it was a little harder to be as intimidated by them than if they were full dressed in their assassin kit with dual daggers to boot. Still, he exaggerated a fearful shiver that shook the both of them.
“Oooh, scary. I might just have to run right now, and leave these poor little chickens to burn to death.”

Sakura felt his eye twitch as he glared holes into the two dumbasses ahead of him. It was a stupidly bright morning, with the sun beating down on him and making Sakura uncomfortably hot in his uniform. Along his walk to school, he’d been practically swarmed by his classmates and now almost the entirety of class 1-1 was spread out among the bubble of Furin students they’d made.
Even though Suo usually walked with Sakura and Nirei, he didn’t care. Suo could hang out with whoever he wanted. It was whatever. What wasn’t whatever, was the fact that Kiryu and Suo had their hands laced together between them, and nobody was even acknowledging it.

Pain exploded in Luka’s cheek as his head was whipped to the side, where he saw blood splatter onto the stage but couldn’t bring himself to care because fuck, that hurt a lot. Vibrations were running through his head and he could barely think, instinctively trying to curl into a ball but a weight on top of him prevented him from trying to collect himself. He tried to squeeze his eyes shut but that was a horrible mistake because it only made his cheekbone throb more, and Luka had to swallow back a noise of pain as he wished that he would never have to be on this stage again even while the cool sensation of it against his neck was the only thing keeping him from freaking out like he was just shot.

As a Fox-- we’ve never trusted authority, have we?” Dan pauses meaningfully. “In the meantime, I’ve made arrangements with Captain Fish of the men’s and Captain Bugs of the women’s rugby clubs. They’ve agreed to let us practice tomorrow, two-hand-touch, I know, we can’t play full contact until we’ve been cleared. I know it isn’t what we want to be doing, and I can’t make you go, but we’ll make the best of it."
