Summary
“Do you hate me?"
Zuko wanted to say yes. It was the obvious answer. Aang was the Avatar. Aang was the enemy. Aang was the one thing keeping him from returning home, from returning to his father’s good graces. He should hate Aang fiercely and openly, and he should have set that entire clearing on fire to get to him and capture him once and for all.
"No,” he said, and was surprised to find it was the truth.
OR What if Zuko and Aang talked at the end of "The Blue Spirit"?
Aang is not twelve. This IS a rewrite of the show, but it diverges more in the Book 3 chapters. Please read the notes before the prologue!

Summary
Nearly a century after the last appearance of Sozin’s Comet, thirteen-year-old Fire Prince Zuko is burned and banished by his father and given a near-impossible task: find and capture the long-lost Avatar, the greatest threat to the Royal Family and Fire Nation itself.
After just three months at sea, he discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg.
When Admiral Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver his prisoner back to Royal Caldera City, to Zuko’s surprise, the young Avatar offers to help him and his uncle escape. Taking refuge from the Fire Navy in the abandoned Air Temples, Aang insists on searching for any remnants of his people that he can find, to Zuko’s chagrin. Along the way, however, the indoctrinated Fire Prince begins to learn the truth about the Air Nomads and the War, while the Dragon of the West is forced to face the sins of his warmongering past.
As the months go by, the two boys eventually form an unlikely friendship, and Zuko begins to experience feelings that he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitorous accomplices.

Summary
Eight years after the war, peace has settled, and Aang and Zuko have built a life together—married and fully mated as omega and alpha. Despite their demanding roles as Avatar and Fire Lord, they always try to make time for each other, holding onto the bond they fought so hard to create.
During a visit to the Southern Water Tribe, something shifts in Aang. Surrounded by families and children, his omega instincts awaken, and he realizes he wants more—he wants a child. Not just to rebuild the Air Nomads, but to have something that is both him and Zuko, a living piece of their love.
But while Aang feels ready, Zuko is shaken. The idea of being a father brings back memories of his own painful childhood, making him doubt if he can be the parent Aang deserves. As Aang’s longing grows, Zuko’s fears threaten to create distance between them—leaving their future uncertain.Bookmarked by Violetiess
