Summary
The problem is, Buck broke the touch barrier. Before, Eddie’s ass existed in his reality as much as a mirage exists in the desert—something to observe at a distance with wonder. He could only dream about what it would be like to kneel at its shore and drink from its waters, but who wouldn’t? He’s thirsty as hell!
But then, Buck actually managed to reach it and discovered it isn’t a mirage, it’s an oasis, and now he’s just supposed to move on?
Buck has always known Eddie has a nice ass, and he is secure enough in his sexuality to let him know as such. It’s no big deal… Until it is.

Summary
“Wait,” the man says, reaching out and tugging on Buck’s shirt.
Buck rights himself and looks down. There’s a small tear revealing a bruise right at his ribs. He sucks in a breath when the man slips his hand under, making contact with Buck’s flank as he lifts the shirt up.
“Jesus, he got you good,” he remarks before dropping the ice pack into the bucket. He continues pulling Buck’s shirt up, big brown eyes flicking up and down. Buck huffs and takes it off completely, swallowing when the man plants his hands on either side of Buck’s waist.
“Got you good, too,” Buck croaks, already painfully turned on. “Gonna be a shiner.”
When Buck starts a fight in a bar, a stranger comes to his rescue. Buck brings him back to his hotel to patch him up.

Summary
There’s something about the way that whole thing went down at the bar—the way Buck looked at Eddie when that woman got their attention.
Eddie wasn’t interested; he was more than happy to make it to last call with Buck and stumble back into the hotel together, maybe have another drink in one of their rooms before calling it a night, but the way Buck looked at him… Eddie knew Buck wanted Eddie to throw his hat in the ring.
First dibs sounds awful, but it's sort of true. He’s been acutely invested in Eddie’s sex life lately, but that look.
Buck wide-eyed as he gauged Eddie’s reaction, like if Eddie gave him eyes that said No, not me but not you either, that would have been it. They’d reject her together. Continue as they were.
But Eddie gave him a different look, the one that said Go for it, and then Buck did.
As if he wanted Eddie’s permission.
Eddie has an eye-opening moment at the bar in Nashville.

Summary
The air crackles all around them as their heavy breaths consume the silence of the otherwise empty house.
Into Eddie’s ear, Buck murmurs, “You aren’t leaving.”
Breathless and voice straining, Eddie chuckles darkly. “There he is.”
Carefully, Buck wrangles Eddie’s hands behind his back so he can lock the deadbolt. Sensing the weakened hold, Eddie thrashes, but Buck quickly knocks him against the door again.
“Are you gonna let me do this?”
“What aren’t you getting?” Eddie counters, his cheek squashed against the door, still fighting it, not letting up. “I don’t let anyone do anything.”
Buck wants to apologize, wants everything to go back to normal, but Eddie won't talk to him. He barely even looks at him. Maybe it's time for some drastic measures.

Summary
The crowd is denser than when they first got here, the music is loud, and Eddie feels old. Well, not old, exactly, but a little out of his element.
When the hell did that happen?
To be fair, it’s been a couple years since he’s been out like this. Not that he’s ever really been out like this before—with the sole intention to get laid. But he can't see himself getting on the apps like Buck and Ravi, so his only option is in person. Which brings them here. Tonight.
Maybe he should have gotten them a round of shots, too, just to take the edge off a bit.
A night out doesn't go to plan, leaving Eddie frustrated but not understanding why.

Summary
Eddie stares up at the hazy night sky, wishing they could see stars from here, but still, it’s nice. Really nice. His eyes drift shut.
“I might have to start taking advantage of you,” he muses after some time, jolting to attention when Buck starts coughing.
“Sorry. Wrong pipe,” Buck chokes out, placing his beer down and swiping the back of his hand across his mouth when he recovers. “Uh, what was that?”
“Gonna start using you for your hot tub,” Eddie elaborates.
Buck chuffs and shakes his head, refocusing on his leg. “Well, I sorta had you guys in mind when I first saw the place, anyway—we, ah, all need it, right?”
Eddie helps Buck break in his new hot tub.

Summary
Just beyond the jagged heap of metal crumpled and embedded into the floor is a pool of something so dark and so black it doesn’t seem to reflect the light from their headlamps, but as they approach, it starts to shimmer. Incandescent purple. Like oil in water.
The closer they get, the less it makes sense.
Buck and Eddie come upon something strange in the hospital.

Summary
This dumb little flat box with a screen gives him far too much access—too many opportunities to act like a fool. He has the sudden urge to chuck it over the railing and listen to it shatter into a billion little pieces on the floor below.
He sort of wants to hurl himself over the railing, too. He could join his stupid, evil phone in a mess of broken glass and bones downstairs, and all his problems would be solved.
He probably should have done that before he sent that damn SOS text.
Really, he should have had his phone privileges revoked ages ago.
Things get a little confusing after Buck and Eddie sext for the first time. Obviously, the only solution is to keep on sexting.

Summary
Buck stays silent, staring straight ahead until he drops his head back and groans. “Why is breakup sex so hot?”
Now that Eddie can understand. “It was like that with Shannon,” Eddie supplies. “I think it was the best sex we ever had. Like this one time, we couldn’t even make it to the bed. We ended up having sex on the floor.”
He shakes his head fondly at the memory as he takes a drink. They got pretty wild for a bit there.
“Dude. Taylor makes me get on my hands and knees and crawl for her.”
Eddie chokes on his beer and coughs, has to wipe the mess from his chin. “Oh.”
Buck is struggling to move on when Taylor dumps him after she finds out he cheated on her with Lucy. Eddie, like the good bud he is, offers to help in more ways than one...
OR... Eddie's curiosity gets the best of him when he returns a box of Taylor's things for Buck...

Summary
Eddie drifts back into that dissociative state until the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. The air around him has become inexplicably charged, but neither Hen nor Chris seems to notice. Something fizzy travels down his spine like goosebumps, and he shivers at the feeling. The dull, tingling sensation that, until now, has been spread evenly through his body, concentrates into a single, hot pinpoint at the nape of his neck, as if someone placed an electrode there and cranked it up all the way.
He gasps and jolts upright from where he was leaning.
The muscles in his neck spasm, and as he grabs at it, he notices a shadow looming behind him in the reflection of one of the monitors. He spins around, but there’s nothing there.
And just as quickly as it struck him, the sensation is already gone.
Things get weird while Buck is in a coma.

Summary
“Were you, uh, dreaming just now?”
Eddie clears his throat.
“Yeah,” he lies, because what is he supposed to say? The truth? He pushes himself up, still keeping himself angled away, scrubbing his palm down his face. “Yeah, I think I was.”
At the very least, it isn’t broad daylight, so his cheeks won’t betray how goddamn hot his face is. He looks over at Buck; the dashboard of the Jeep and the moon in the sky cast a soft glow on his features.
With a sidelong look, a sly little smile pulls at Buck’s lips. “Sounded like it mighta been a good one,” he teases, wagging his eyebrows.
Halfway through their drive from El Paso to LA, Buck gives Eddie permission to let go.

Summary
Chrissy Cunningham is a card-carrying people pleaser, although she doesn't quite know that yet. It takes a spontaneous hang out with Eddie Munson, an omega unlike any she's met before, to clue into just how much she doesn't know about herself.
She has a lot of fun figuring it out.
☀️
“Jesus. Has he ever heard of spit? Lube? First of all, it’s never too long if you're making your partner feel good. God, Chrissy, with the way you smell, like literal sunshine, he should be so lucky to spend all day and night between your thighs.”
Rubbing her hands together in her lap, Chrissy looks through her lashes at him.
“Is that what you would do?”
“I—” Eddie’s eyes flick down to her legs and back to her face. Biting his bottom lip, he nods slowly. “Fuck yeah, I would.”

Luckily, Steve is there to swoop in and help him score a date with Chrissy. Only, their totally "straight" wires get a little crossed in the process.
