It’s Friday, so most of the team’s cleared out to the showers already. That’s fine. Good, even, since they’re not the one’s who need a lesson. Ever the good team captain, Shiro’s stayed behind to put the equipment away and to rights for the weekend. Perfect.
No reason to be nervous, but he can’t help the feeling twisting along his spine. They haven’t gotten past kissing and the occasional heavy petting. For obvious reasons. Maybe it’s wrong to move things to the next level here and now.

Ghost was still sore. Most specifically, about the fact that the moment he had tried to get back to Soap, still in bed in his motel room back in Chicago, they had been told they needed to leave almost immediately. Bundled into a plane and sent home to sit, stony faced, at a debriefing that was miserable and tedious. One which even Laswell looked annoyed to be at, which Ghost chalked up to the fact that she had a beautiful wife, and a crusty little dog that needed walking, waiting at home.
Soap had glanced at him across the table, bottom lip jutting out until he caught himself and it was sucked back up into an expression that resembled something a bit more professional. But, Simon could see it in his eyes. The disappointment.

a sequel to caught me gawking, set directly after Ghost and Soap have returned, post-shagging and post-post-final MW2 mission in Chicago. Soap's in a jam and Ghost is in the shit because despite his neatly defined outward flaws, like being incomprehensible half the time, he's quite enjoying Soap's company.

“Not old.” A scar ran down the side of Ghost’s face, perpendicular to the cut of his jawline, and it shifted as he spoke, “Younger than Price.”
“Really?” Soap’s stool scraped across the floor as he tugged it closer. Far too close for two grown, military sculpted men to be to each other but Soap had had at least two tequila shots even before he’d started on his next drinks, so it felt like nothing at all to be able to smell that Ghost was clean. No blood. No dirt. Clean, washed skin underneath his clothes and mask, “I mean, that wee glance you gave us of your mug back before the raid wasn’t much to go on.”
“Thought you might have gone rifling through my file.”

Or: Ghost and Soap are the last ones left in the bar after the final MW2 mission, knees touching, and Soap can't help himself. Can't stop the little, needling shit that lives in the back of his head and cajoles him into pushing himself into Ghost's vision. 'Just a snog, sir. We don't have to tell.' Except, it's not really that easy, is it?

John’s stomach flips as he reads it over, fingers tightening around the phone, breath hitching tightly in his chest. He doesn’t regret what he said, because it’s true. He does want to know what it would be like. And yet, he can’t help how raw it makes him feel, how exposed. Like something has been peeled open inside of him, and John is helpless to stop it.
He doesn’t even know when these thoughts started, only that he’s been thinking them for a while. This wanting turning into a need, sharp and relentless, plaguing John’s every waking thoughts. He knows he could go to the bar, knows he could find a pretty lad or lass and settle the ache in his belly.
But that ache always comes back.

Summary
There’s a ghost haunting the 141 common room. At least, Soap is about 80% sure there is, which is, in fairness, realistically about as sure as anyone could reasonably be about spooks haunting their workplace. He’s not stupid, he knows no one else is going to believe him if he brings it up. The scorn if he suddenly starts harping on about ghosties and ghoulies.
None of that negates the fact that there definitely is one though. Probably.

"Soap’s hand moves on its own, and he has to force himself to remain relatively calm and collected when his fingers graze the underside of a collar. He grabs the heavy, offending piece snug around his throat, and by instinct, he gives it a tug. It doesn’t move, doesn’t give, and Soap suddenly feels like he’s robbed of air, trying his hardest to keep his breathing slow and measured.
It’s insulting, it’s horrifying, the implications of it push Soap close to a real panic attack. He’s fucking collared against his wishes and consent, and that makes him feel dirtier than being a late-presenting Omega ever did.

Johnny shifts, making himself comfortable, or trying to, and something foul clenches in his heart. He watches him draw his uninjured leg up, flatten it down again, bend his knee to splay it, straighten it again, watches him tuck his arm under the pillow, put both on his chest, and sigh before star fishing out.
It's not for Ghost to watch, but he does. It's not for Ghost to note the bulge in his shorts that are shifting higher on his thick, hairy thighs from all the moving around, but he does.
And he should look away when Johnny huffs out a breath he can almost hear and cups himself, but he doesn't. It'll help settle him down.
It's private.
Soap breaks his foot and is sent away to heal. In repayment for the injury, Ghost offers him his nearby flat. It provides fast access to the base and task force, staying conveniently close. It just so happens to provide Ghost some different access, too.
In which good intentions aren't all that good, bad ones are just what the doctor ordered, and games lay bare what's been carefully hid. In a spiral of obsession and guilt, desire and fear, some guidance isn't amiss. But will it be enough?
