Summary
WARNING: This won’t make much sense if you haven’t read the other portions of The Stewardess. It takes place during “The Stewardess” Chapter 56: Behind Enemy Lines.
ISB asset turned Rebel leader, Teela Zapheri has returned unwillingly to Imperial service. She’s enlisted to accompany her employer to a Governor’s Ball but unfortunately trouble follows the duo wherever they go. Teela is once again pitted against politicians, assassins, and spies but perhaps her most dangerous enemy, in Grand Admiral Thrawn's opinion, is her own willful defiance.

Summary
NOTE: This takes place after Chapter 24 and before Chapter 25 of "The Stewardess" (just to give you context)
When Colonel Wullf Yularen loses a bet to Cal Zapheri, he owes his old friend a favor. Naturally Cal is perpetually worried about his niece. Although, she's on the Thunder Wasp with the very capable Commander Thrawn who would certainly do everything in his power to protect her, the relationship between her and the Chiss has been contentious recently.
Cal requests the spy master find out how Teela Zapheri is really doing, suspecting that Yularen will be able to extract more information from the Commander's aide-de-camp than what she would otherwise put in a letter to her uncle.
The questions from the Colonel, posed to Thrawn's former stewardess prompt her to recall with perfect clarity some of her recent misadventures while in the company of the Empire's finest mastermind.

Summary
Teela Zapheri, a young prodigy born into privilege needs to get back to Coruscant. Her uncle Voss is happy to provide her safe escort – well respected civilians are allowed passage on Imperial warships after all, and he would only be taking her part of the way…that is until he decides to pursue a few smugglers to the edge of Wild Space.
The alien they find there, Thrawn, alters Teela’s life in ways she never imagined. She becomes a stewardess – a caretaker, an educator, an administrator and an advocate. A friendship blooms between her and the Chiss as they hunt down smugglers, are pursued by elements of Black Sun, and seek to identify the shadowy figure, Nightswan. The next ten years are spent by his side, watching, learning, and aiding a tactical genius claim his rightful place in the Empire, even while Teela finds herself a pawn in a dangerous game of revenge and betrayal.

**Don't read this unless you've read up to the beginning of Chapter 33 of The Stewardess or this will make NO SENSE AT ALL.**Teela Zapheri is still grieving recent events, but her time for self-reflection is shortened when she and Commodore Thrawn are tasked with going to Ansion. Their goal is to infiltrate the Imperial base, in secret to gather the evidence needed to bring a Black Sun operative to justice. However, while there, things take a very unexpected turn and Teela and Thrawn’s relationship is strained and frayed to the breaking point when she meets a Lieutenant by the name of Eli Vanto.
