Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

It finally stepped out of the crops, pace steady, and paused at the corn trail mix on the ground. It tilted its head, unsure, and Sanji leaned forward instinctively. Sure enough, the ears swiveled again, and the deer looked at the two humans on the porch.
"It's for you," Sanji said. He kept his voice low and quiet, as nonthreatening as could be. The deer twitched but went still again, breathing a little faster, and Sanji took it as a win. "That's your breakfast. You can have it."

Summary
The surface has never been the same since monster emerged.
The humans weren’t prepared for the attack and were quickly brought to their knees.
Those closest to the barrier when it collapsed were either killed by the shockwave or were unlucky enough to survive and become feral beasts.
The humans farther out were irreversibly altered. Some grew gnarled horns. Some sprouted animal like tails and fur. Some grew massive fangs and deadly claws.
And some lost it all.
She was nothing but bones and magic now.
Or: Post apocalyptic mash up of the UnderFell, FellSwap Red, SwapFell Purple, and FellSwap Gold universes on the surface where Pitch, a skeleton Altered, does her best to survive and keep hidden along with her growing number of dubiously acquired goat Altered children. But things can only go unnoticed by the Monsters for so long…

You've always been adaptable. You're the kind of person who gets thrown into situations head-first and makes the best of what you've got. This particular situation, which you're 99.999999% positive is some kind of super intense hallucination or drug-induced fever dream, is pushing that ability to the extreme. Because as far as you can tell, you are suddenly in Eiichiro Oda's fictional world of One Piece and being pulled out of a treasure chest by none other than Whitebeard himself and, oh yeah, you're a baby. Like literally an infant... You're just going to have to see where this goes.
