"Absolutely wild," Eret agreed, and they left Awesamedude on his island with the promise that if he ever involuntarily enrolled another child (or overly large spider) into daycare, Tubbo would come for his kneecaps.

Summary
Understanding doesn't stop Tubbo from staring a hole into Tommy & Wilbur's palms whenever there's a flash of those glimmering matching soulmarks.
He wants his back. He wants to be able to pull his collar to the side and look down and see that mark and be reassured that there is one person who won't leave him in a box on the side of the road.
Or: Tubbo lost his soulmark at the festival, and he doesn't know what that means for him.

Tommy woke up just in time to roll and retch over the side of the bed. He clamped a hand over his mouth. He expected to see dead animals strewn across the floor, the smell of rotting flesh was so strong, but there was nothing but shadows cast through the window. He rolled over, afraid to find Tubbo a bloated corpse next to him.
Tubbo was awake too, shirt collar over his mouth and nose. He pointed toward the door.
Something panted wolfishly at the crack.
Long claws like spider legs quested under the door, leaving gouges in the floor when they withdrew.
(In which Tommy and Tubbo do the exact wrong thing when lost in the woods.)
