"Have you heard of the marshmallow test?
Known as one of the most renowned experiments on "delayed gratification" in children, the premise is this: give a child a marshmallow. Tell them 'wait 20 minutes, and I'll give you another. If you eat it now, you don't get the other reward.' Simple enough, of course. It makes sense to a lot of us; who wouldn't rather have two marshmallows than one? But! In many cases, the children with worse home lives (who didn't understand the ideas that others were taught) are the ones who eat the marshmallow immediately. After all, why wait for something that *might* happen, when you could have something that will happen *now?*
Interestingly, a followup test that was supposed to measure the success of children based on early experiences revealed that sometimes, the promises children are given impact their ability to make decisions. A broken promise before the experiment meant that the child would likely not wait for the reward. A kept promise, on the other hand, helped the children trust more and wait for the end result. This is seen in other areas of many lives today. Kept promises can be important factors in a decision."

Summary
Tommy, a seventeen-year-old boy, has journeyed to the capital of the Antarctic Empire to help fix the country, once and for all. The twist? The very man to ruin the city beyond repair is someone who he knew very well, once upon a time---his shitty father, Philza Minecraft.
The man disappeared sixteen years ago, after his terrible ruling brought the Empire to pieces---he was a war-mongering man who never gave up a fight, even at the cost of his people and their lives. After a series of brief, yet brutal revolutions, he and his oldest son fled the country, leaving the youngest son behind. Everyone knows this, and his name is cursed across the lands of the Antarctic Empire for his many, many misdeeds.
Except there's more to the story. And as always, people who did nothing wrong will pay for the mistakes of those in power.
Unless... our brave hero can overcome his very real flaws and figure out how to juggle his morals, his aspirations, and his biggest fears all at once. The odds are stacked against him, but have hope! 'Cause he's got a helluva crew with him, and they're not letting him fall apart so soon.

There was an inexplicable irony to it all, and Harriet would forever curse her ‘Potter’s Luck’ even when she was no longer a Potter in name. Divination was meant to be a joke of a subject, and had coincidentally been her worst grade at OWL level.

He paused as the clouds rolled back and the moonlight hit his face. He’d always loved the moon. In Antarctica when the snow was glistening and reflecting the moon’s light the world had seemed so bright it was almost blinding. The rays from the moon seemed to reach for him, cup his face and kiss his forehead and tell him “not yet.”
Not yet, He promises quietly.
His wings unfurled, reaching out to welcome the moon and her words.
