Summary
Alhaitham has apparently decided to go about seducing Kaveh in the stupidest manner possible. And yet, that absurdity pales in comparison to Kaveh’s own stupidity—because somehow, against all reason, his roommate’s idiotic attempts to seduce him are working.
Kaveh turns to glare at Alhaitham, and Alhaitham stares back at him levelly—which only makes indignation boil hotter in Kaveh’s gut, even as his eyes drift to Alhaitham’s infuriating lips and start replaying that memory from this morning.
He knows what he saw. He’d watched as Alhaitham rounded his lips, took that banana far into his throat, and slowly dragged his mouth up the length, flicking his tongue at the tip. He’d seen Alhaitham start to repeat the motion, pausing with his eyes locked onto Kaveh’s—and then, with a half-lidded stare, he’d casually taken a bite and walked out of the room, brushing against Kaveh as he left.
Kaveh had been completely awake. And whatever the fuck Alhaitham was doing, it had been completely intentional.

“They are,” he eventually says. “Good enough reasons, I mean.”
He lets Kaveh think it’s for the taxes. Alhaitham marries him because it’s love.
Kaveh proposes marriage for tax benefits.

His headphones are broken.
Alhaitham stares down at them, feeling a well of frustration and anger grow. He’s supposed to be getting them maintained every six months, due to the high usage and custom specifications. He’s just been so busy with the Acting Grand Sage business and whatever else that he just… forgot. It’s been a year now, and they finally decided to give up the ghost.
It shouldn’t be a big deal. It shouldn’t be a problem.
But there’s an ache in his neck and his cape isn’t sitting right and now his headphones are broken.

Summary
There's this thing, a sort of affliction, that AlHaitham has grappled with since the moment he met Kaveh. Some of the guiding principles he adheres to, those filters he relies on to navigate his life, seem to falter in their efficacy when Kaveh is added as a variable. His encounters with the architect often disrupt his usual rationality.
