Summary
With no explanation, after Neteyam’s death in battle, he somehow wakes up under the Tree of Souls, back in the place he grew up in. Shame and grief holding him down, he refuses to leave to find his family and tell them he’s alive until he defeats the sky people and regains his honor, but two years later as the sky people are officially driven out of Pandora, those feelings of shame refuse to leave.
Even through Neteyam refuses to go find his family, they unknowingly come to him. Weeks after the war is over, the Olo’eyktan of the Metkayina people and the Toruk Makto decide to help solidify the bonds of their tribes in a place outside of war, leading to them deciding to have the Toruk Makto house the Olo’eyktan’s family in the Hometree.
When the Sully family finds Neteyam alive, feelings that had been pushed down for years arise, shown through relief and intense anger. Not only does Neteyam have to navigate the unwilling reintroduction to his family which he had avoided for two years, he also is confronted by Ao’nung and the intense feelings that he had for him two years prior.
While Neteyam navigates his familial and romantic relationships, he attempts to keep him self afloat and avoid a complete spiral.Bookmarked by Yoseobsjacket
