The second that I read this quote in A Court of Wings and Ruin on page 58, and read that Feyre began imagining how Lucien would fuck a woman… I knew deep in my bones that I had to write this. This need was then further heightened because of the scene on page 49, when Lucien attempted to comfort Feyre from her nightmares & he ran his hands down her back. I needed to write this part playing out very differently, and ending in Lucien letting a little of that fire in his blood out.
I want to iterate that this obviously isn’t canon, and I know Feyre would never cheat on Rhys. That being said, it doesn’t mean I can’t have some fun ;)

Finding Erebor had never been Bilbo’s life goal; it had been his parents’, so, really, he had absolutely not expected to get roped into joining an expedition to find the Lost Kingdom and most certainly hadn’t he expected to succeed and run into the most grumpy yet strangely charming of all kings. It sounded like one of the penny dreadful he most definitely hadn’t fancied in his youth and never ever imagined for himself, but he would still like to point out that neither the booklets nor his fantasy had ever featured an active volcano.

Summary
At no point in the accidental usurpation of Thorin as leader of The Company and the quest for Erebor, did Bilbo intend for this to turn into an exploration of cultural differences (and something that almost feels like group therapy). For some reason, the Dwarrows aren't complaining, and Bilbo isn't going to question it, as long as the lumoxes behave themselves and do as they're told.
Who knows, they all might yet survive this insane journey.
(Or, where Bilbo decides the Dwarves are all too stupid for him to endure this ridiculousness anymore and Does It Hobbit and the Dwarves suddenly get affectionate.)
