Summary
Izzy is injured at work and ends up losing part of his leg as a result. In pain he turns to alcohol and quickly spirals. As he plummets towards his bottom an unlikely source appears to help him. The last time he saw Jack Rackham was at an intervention he helped organize. Somehow Jack manages to hang onto sobriety and Izzy realizes he is well and truly desperate. He'll do anything to feel better, even if it means taking advice from a human disaster like Jack.

Israel Hands is trying to regain a sense of normalcy. After realizing the crew still need him, he pushes himself to make appearances. He keeps the ruse up for a while, but Fang, Frenchie, Archie and Jim know something isn't quite right. They can see him grabbing bottles of rum from the kitchen. They take turns interrupting his self-destruction. Izzy can't bring himself to ask for help, but the crew helps anyway.

Summary
Following the death of his father Stede Bonnet has reluctantly taken over his wealth management firm and promptly driven it into the ground. In an effort to free himself and appease shareholders he starts to look for a buyer and ends up meeting Edward Teach. Edward and his right hand man Izzy Hands have built a small empire through whatever means necessary but Edward sees a chance to go straight and jumps at it, falling in love with Bonnet. Izzy can see his boss is distracted and does his best to keep things on track while also managing the ugly truths of their apparent success. This becomes even more difficult when Bonnet's assistant takes a keen interest in Izzy and what is happening behind the scenes.

Summary
Stede, Edward, and Izzy are settled and quite happy with their new dynamic. Stede however feels like there is something missing, something he needs to be a proper pirate. Both his partners have collections of ink, and his skin is unmarked. He decides this needs to change and Ed and Izzy are more than happy to help.
