There’s no rhyme or reason to it—what fate decides to allow or… ruin,” Evans rasped, his words had Draco furrowing his brows in confusion, while eyeing the dark look that settled over Evans’s face while his half-lidded gaze never left him. “I’ve come a long, long way from home, Draco. Do you know that?”
Draco survives the Sectumsempra in one universe, but in another he’s not so lucky. That makes all the difference.

Wishing that he had his wand to fight back against Harry, not that it would do any good, he pondered with a wince. All Draco could do was beg and hope to garner some mercy or sympathy from Harry.
But there was no pity or kindness to be found in those hollow eyes.
Draco would do anything for his mother. Even if it meant signing away his freedom.
