Summary
“All stories are about Death, except the ones that are about Life, which by deduction are also about Death. Everytime Burakh would dream he would eat: he would eat voraciously, passionately. His teeth would tear through the thread binding waking world and sleeping world like he was pulling stitches. Like he was trying to pry himself open. And he was: at the threshold of that wound, between the open lips of this parted cut, laid and lived the snaking path of his ways; the rope he was to walk to the knowledge of the Earth and the knowledge of everything else.”
Burakh comes home to nothing, and to something else entirely. Waking, walking dreams bear witness to him (and he bears witness to them) — a long story about strings of dreams for the dream-eater, and what he finds in that lingering hunger: death and defiance, life and love, and all of their satellites.
