It's his Year of Blood. He's nine years old again and it's his Year of Blood, he is there for his baptism of fire and to bring glory to the Al Ghuls, but it is all wrong. He shouldn't be there, proud of what he is about to do and the suffering he is about to bring, he should be home, safe, in the embrace of his loved ones and in the love of his loved ones. His mind keeps screaming "Calm down," his heart tell him "Don't think," but it's pounding in his chest with furious beats and Damian tries to regularize his breathing as the fire crackles and turns green and blue.

“Where am I?” Giyū manages, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
“I brought you to a wisteria house,” Sabito replies. “I mean, you’re wearing the uniform of the Demon Slaying Corps, so I figured it’d be okay.”
Giyū blinks at Sabito slowly. He’d been expecting an answer more along the lines of “the afterlife” or “purgatory.”
“Anyway, I’m Sabito,” Sabito continues, and Giyū feels more and more lost with every word. “Although you probably know me as the Water Pillar.”

Jon smelled of blood and remnants of magic, hot desert sand burned by fire and incense, scents that intoxicated Damian's senses and drove him mad; his uniform, usually immaculate and bright white, was stained red and torn in several places, with a yellowish halo as if Jon had been dragged for miles on sand and dirt.
Damian thought he had never felt safer than he did with a man who could break his neck with a snap of his fingers. But maybe that was what Damian loved most about Jon: the thrill, the adrenaline, living constantly next to danger and knowing that he might be the Demon Head, but that he was part mortal just like everyone else who walked the grounds of that ruined world.

In his defence, Jon hadn't expected this. He had put his feelings for Damian in a drawer in his mind and never brought them up again, he had begun to tell himself that just being around Damian was enough and that he didn't pretend to be the centre of his world, so his reaction to those unexpected words had been more than normal and he admitted that he had been momentarily taken aback by the naturalness with which Damian had said them. He had never even thought that Damian might reciprocate his feelings, so his confusion shouldn't have been so strange. Too bad that Damian didn't seem to see it the same way.

Damian makes it about a mile before the ground starts to shake slightly. Damian pauses, but the shaking only gets worse. Then the ground underneath his feet explodes, and plants fly out.
It knocks him backwards, but he’s still able to catch himself on his elbows. Pain explodes up and down Damian’s arms, but he’s still quick to jump to his feet. He looks around quickly, and plants are everywhere. People are screaming, and running in different directions.
Damian clocks each person in his head, then takes off to find somewhere he can change into his costume. It’s not hard to find somewhere, and he slips his comm into his ear once he does. He hides his backpack with his clothes in it somewhere that no one is going to look for it.
“Is anyone on the line yet?”
“Yep, I’m here, and Spoiler is here,” Tim says. “Batman went to the Watchtower right before this happened. So, he’ll hear about it eventually, and come help. For now though, we’re going to work with what we have, because I can’t reach him over comm.”

Summary
Damian had never believed in the rumour of soul mates, despite the symbol he was born with.
His mother had always told him that he would understand, that one day the incomplete mark would make sense, and that only his soul mate would be able to complete the design to the point where it could be understood, but Damian had always thought that she was just saying that to calm him down and give him who knows what hope for his future.
Damian had ended up not thinking about it, helped by the unravelling he had seen his mother undergo, destroyed and disillusioned by the man she had always loved; so he had continued to believe that the soul mate story was just a farce, that it was just a sweet lie his mother had tried to tell herself, and so he had buried it all in the depths of his heart. At least until he had met Jonathan Samuel Kent.

He was absolutely phenomenal in his acting skills, for more than 1 reason. Thing is, he had never wanted to act, Talia had wanted him to, so she could live her dreams through him.
When Damian finally expresses his disinterest in acting, Talia looses it and asks Bruce, who has never even met or heard of Damian before, to take him along. -
