    » "Please, please, please, please!” Mike tugged at his arm. “You have to draw me!”

    Will couldn’t help but chuckle. “No, I-I don’t know, Mike …”

    “Please, Will! Your drawings are amazing, you have to draw me! You have to!”

    “I’m afraid you won’t like it”, Will said, continuing to color in the purple on his wizard robe.

    “That’s ridiculous! I’m gonna love it!” Mike got down on his knees, knocking a can of crayons in his movements. The can struck the floor with a loud bang and Will couldn’t help but flinch. He remembered how Dad had slammed the door shut the other day. He had come home from work late and seemed irritated. Will had stayed in his room, not daring to say hello to him.

    “I BEG you!” Mike shouted. He took Will’s hand in his. “I will do anything! Show me mercy, Will, I will never be able to draw the way you draw! Please, please, PLEASE, make a drawing of me!” He shook Will’s hand.

    Will chuckled. Mike could be so dramatic sometimes. «

    In November of the year 1977, Mike has been Will's only friend for over a year. When he asks him to do a drawing of them both, Will isn't able refuse.

    “You wore it” a familiar voice forces him out his thoughts

    Bakugou glances down to his exposed ankle, the very same ankle that Kirishima was focused on. There, on full display for everyone to see was the bracelet.

    Shit

    “Katsuki, you wore it” Kirishima says again.

    Kirishima gifts Bakugou a bracelet, but he assumes he doesn't like it until people around him notice the band around his ankle instead of his wrist.

All he could remember from that night was the low voice that felt like it was crawling in through his ears, the visions of terrible things happening to his loved ones, the cold feeling overtaking his body, making his limbs as stiff as the corpse they fished out from the lake when he was twelve.
    That, and the chatter of his best friend taking him home, his head falling on the Wheelers’ soft couch. Mike’s lip nearly brushing his ear, whispering a promise to help Will, no matter what it takes. Will murmuring that he felt funny when Mike was close to him like this, too young to know what it was, and too low for Mike to hear him."

    Will glances away from the window to wrinkle his nose at her. “Why would I want to go home early?”
    His mom smiles a little and shrugs innocently. “I don’t know. Maybe you’ll get scared and want to sleep in your own bed.”
    Will huffs. “Mom, I’m seven and a half now,” he tuts, “I don’t get scared anymore.”

    Again, Mike tries to remember the details of previous games, and again he comes up with nothing. He chews on the inside of his cheek, staring at Will’s lips, and contemplates the concept: Will, kissing someone. Will, kissing multiple someones, maybe, and not telling anyone about it, not telling Mike about it. The idea makes something unpleasant turn over in his stomach. “Are you sure?” he asks before he can stop himself, and only realizes how sharp it came out him when everyone turns to him with narrowed eyes.

    Will laughs, a little bemusedly. “Um, yeah? I think I’d remember.”

    During the Byers’ Halloween Party, Mike has some realizations.
