Summary
Pete jolts upright so fast and hard that he nearly falls over, all of his natural lupine grace abandoning him completely at the least opportune time. His hackles go up immediately, his lips drawing back on a snarl more from surprise than anything else, but then he freezes, tail straight out behind him and ears pricked and alert, because scowling at him across a few spare feet of forest floor is the stranger. Of course—who else? It's not like these woods are densely populated.
Still, he hates, hates, hates that he was so surprised—so caught up in his own head that he apparently lost all command of his senses and let a bunny sneak up on him. Isn't it supposed to be very much the other way around?
"Um," he says, intelligently, watching ravenously as the stranger's nose twitches and one of his ears flicks slightly. It's now that Pete notices he's wearing a dagger on his hip; he's got one hand on it, clearly ready to draw if he needs to—though he hasn't yet, perhaps out of a thin veneer of politeness. Pete may be falling in love. "Well, I'm—I was just—passing through?"

Summary
Patrick is all alone in the Wasteland when Joe saves his life. They're both drawn together thanks to their dreams of helping the people just trying to survive the post-apocalypse.
Deciding to travel together, they run into Andy, who might prefer Synths to humans and Pete, the epitome of everything Patrick despises.
It's all a mess of feelings until their pasts begin to collide and they must rely on each other to survive.

Summary
A pair of giant fucking antlers is what Pete sees first, because there’s no way those could be overlooked. Beneath them, a tiny guy, staring at them with a frown.
“You’re Fall Out Boy?” The guy asks, and thankfully, at least he has a normal speaking voice. He sounds grumpy, even though nothing has even happened yet to justify it, which annoys Pete almost as much as the fact that he asks if they’re Fall Out Boy as if there were any doubts about that. Pete’s ego is only slightly insulted that people don’t immediately recognize his band.
“Yes, we’re Fall Out Boy. And you’re who, a local fawn? No, wait, a deer boy ,” Pete says, with remarkable restraint in his voice. Only his raised ears betray his alertness and discomfort. He wants to growl, wants to tell the guy to avert his beady eyes, they’re freaking him out; but he’s not interested to find out what happens if those antlers meet soft, human flesh.
Deer boy doesn’t take that well, long lashes fluttering as he squints his eyes in anger. He gives the worst answer possible. “I’m your producer, dipshit. And actually, I’m a stag.”
Pete shuts his mouth at that.
