Throughout Harry's childhood there was one truly preserving quality, the all consuming loneliness that years of abuse and neglect could only ever breed.
The ever present and lingering solitude and quiet despair only ever solidified the intensity of sadness that Harry felt. The tragedy of Harry's existence is that he had not ever known a life outside of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his family, regardless of the meaningless hopes and prayers, wishing and pleading that "Someone! Oh, someone! Please save me from this misery! Please, anyone, anybody...". Nobody saved this boy. So he saved himself. -
