“Do you have other plans for tonight?”
You pause for a second to formulate an answer, studying him as you go still. He looks a little too relaxed right now, posture loose and easy, and his expression is neutral but slightly friendly, all faux niceness betrayed only by his dismantling stare. He wants something. You don’t know what.
“Well,” you start, his face unreadable, “I just, uh, wanted to see if you needed me out of your hair, or—”
“Oh,” says Luren, “no, Hymir. Not unless you’re aching to leave. You’re dead.”
You stare.
He continues, “Only partially, right? I know you’re not a ghoul. Pander?”
You’re not familiar with the phrase. You answer, instead, “Uh. No. I’m, uh, a Nosferatu. Sewer Rat, haha.”
He doesn’t laugh, but he does smile—it reminds you of Oswin’s conniving smirk, all sharp edges and teeth. You note his long incisors, straight and white and fanglike.
“I’ll be blunt, Hymir,” Luren says, still looking down at you from where he stands to where you sit. “You’re a vampire. I’m not. I’d like it if you bit me.”It's been too long since you've had a meal.
